You should therefore only use the appliance with
a protective earth connection.
Do not connect the appliance to the power supply

during installation.
Instructions for the exhaust air pipe
The appliance manufacturer does not provide any
warranty for faults attributable to the pipeline.
Use a short, straight exhaust air pipe with as large
¡
a pipe diameter as possible.
Long, rough exhaust air pipes, many pipe bends
¡
or small pipe diameters reduce the suction power
and increase the fan noise.
Use an exhaust pipe that is made of non-combust-
¡
ible material.
General information
Follow these general instructions during the installa-
tion.
For the installation, observe the currently valid
¡
building regulations and the regulations of the
local electricity and gas suppliers.
When discharging the exhaust air, the official and
¡
legal regulations, such as the regional building
code., must be observed.
The surfaces of the appliance are sensitive. Avoid
¡
damaging them during installation.
Installation
Checking the wall
Check whether the wall is vertical and has suffi-

cient load-bearing capacity.
The weight of the appliance is approx. 13 kg.
Ensure that there are no electrical wires, gas
2.
pipes or water pipes in the area where holes are
to be drilled.
Drill the hole depth in accordance with the length
3.
of the screws.
Ensure that the wall plugs are firmly in place.
4.
Use suitable fixing material depending on the con-
5.
struction type, e.g. solid brickwork, plasterboard,
porous concrete, Poroton brick.
Preparing the wall
ATTENTION!
Condensation return may damage the appliance.
To prevent condensate from returning, fit the ex-
haust air pipe with a 1° gradient from the appli-
ance.
Requirements
Only specialist personnel must create the required
¡
wall breakthrough.
The building support structure must remain in
¡
place.
Ensure that there are no electric cables, gas or
¡
water pipes in the area where holes are to be
drilled.
Create the wall breakthrough with a diameter of at
1.
least 210 mm.
Insert the AD702042 telescopic wall outlet into the
2.
wall breakthrough.
The telescopic wall outlet is available as an op-
tional accessory.
Secure and seal the telescopic wall outlet with
3.
foam or mounting adhesive.

Drill 8 mm mounting holes and the cable passage
4.
with a diameter of at least 20 mm into the outside
wall.

Installing the appliance
Press in the wall plugs flush with the wall.

Seal the fixing plate appropriately against the out-

side wall and tighten it.

Guide the mains cable and the control cable

through the outside wall.

Screw the remote fan unit onto the fixing plate.

Secure the exhaust air pipe to the inside of the

wall outlet.
Screw the inner control unit tightly into the wall.

Fitting the plug to the mains cable
Secure the blue wire in connection N, the brown

wire in connection L and the green/yellow wire in
the central connection.

Fit the connector parts.

Tighten two screws for the strain relief.

Connecting the appliance
Firmly insert the mains cable and control cable

from the remote fan unit into the control unit.

Firmly insert the network cable from the control

unit to the extractor hood.
Ensure that the plug connections engage.

The connection sockets X1 and X2 are identical.
Connect the control unit to the mains.

Checking the function
Check the functionality of the appliance.

If the appliance does not work, check the plug

connections for the connection cables.
The connection sockets X1 and X2 are identical.
Removing the appliance
WARNING ‒ Risk of injury!
Components inside the appliance may have sharp
edges.
Wear protective gloves.
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

Undo the exhaust connections.

Undo the cable connections.

Undo the screw connections for securing the ap-

pliance.
Remove the appliance.
5.
Additional switching output
The appliance has an additional switching output
X16 (potential-free contact) that can be used to con-
nect other appliances, such as a ventilation system
