3. Insert the SD card into the SD card slot with the cor-

Note
Updating the firmware takes a maximum of 5 minutes.
Do not switch off the device while updating the firmware.
The device cannot be operated while the firmware is be-
ing updated.
If the SD card does not contain firmware, the"Updating
the firmware option is not displayed.
The firmware and the programme "SD Card Manag-
er", which is required for transferring to the SD card,
can be obtained from Kärcher Customer Service.
Maintenance
Sanitisation
The automatic sanitisation starts automatically at the
programmed time, see Chapter "User menu/Operating
parameters/Sanitisation data".
Sanitisation and rinsing are carried out automatically.
Extraordinary thermal sanitisation is required after a re-
pair or after a shut down of more than 8 days and must
be started manually.
1. Empty the can before and after sanitisation (see
Chapter "Care and maintenance/empty can (op-
tion)").

2. Empty the container and place it under the water
outlet again.

Note
During sanitisation, the device produces a slightly high-
er operating noise.
Manually start the filter change
The manual start of an extraordinary filter change takes
place after a longer shutdown (see Chapter Removing
and installing the filter).
Manually start the initial Start-Up
The manual start of an initial Start-Up is carried out after
a longer shutdown or extensive repairs (see Chapter In-
itial Start-Up menu).

If sampling is to be carried out, samples must be taken

immediately after sanitisation has been completed, in
compliance with the rules for microbiological water anal-
ysis, and evaluated by an accredited laboratory.
Removing and installing the filter

Improper work can result in harmful germs getting into

Pay attention to hygiene and cleanliness when chang-
ing the filter cartridge.

Wear sterile disposable gloves when changing the filter.

If a filter change is necessary, the symbol "I" (Info) is

shown in the display.
The request to change the filter is made after the filter
life has expired or if the filter is clogged.
The due filter change can be started in the user menu.
The menu guides the user through the filter change.
For an extraordinary filter change, carry out the fol-
lowing steps:
1. Remove the drip tray and open the device door.

3. Close the device door.

4. Insert the drip tray.
5. Place a container under the water outlet.

6. Empty the container.
7. Remove the drip tray.

9. Turn the filter to the left until the tab is visible.

10. Pull the filter downwards out of the holder and re-
move it.
Note
The used filter can be disposed of as household waste
after the water has been poured off.
11. Put on sterile gloves.
12. Unpack the new filter.
13. Turn the new filter so that the handle is on the left
side.
14. Insert the filter from below into the corresponding
holder.
15. Turn the filter to the right as far as it will go.
16. Check the installation position: The markings on the
Button
label and on the filter must be aligned.

17. Close the device door.

It is recommended to perform an extraordinary sanitisa-
tion after the rinsing.
Emptying the drip tray
As soon as the drip tray has reached its maximum fill
level, the message"Empty the drip tray appears in the
display.
1. Remove the drip tray.
2. Empty the drip tray.
3. Check the drip tray for contamination, clean if nec-
essary.
4. Insert the drip tray again.
The device is now ready for operation.
The display shows the selection of water types.
Note
If the drip tray is not inserted correctly, the mes-
sage"Empty the drip tray is also displayed.
Emptying the can (optional attachment kit)
As soon as the can reaches its maximum fill level, the
message "Empty the drain can" appears in the display.
1. Open the door on the stand.
2. Unscrew the closing lid.

3. Remove the closing lid with the fill level sensor.
4. Remove the can from the stand.
5. Empty the can.
6. Insert the can into the stand.
7. Put on the closing lid with the fill level sensor and
tighten it.
8. Close the door on the stand.

The device is now ready for operation.
The display shows the selection of water types.
Daily rinsing
This function must be activated by the customer service
or by telephone support.
● When this function is activated, the device performs
a short rinse of the dispensing area every day.
● This automatic rinse starts 2 minutes before the set
start time for thermal sanitisation.
