Safety instructions
Observe the safety instructions from the manual 3 842 358 820, "General
safety instructions for electrotechnical installation of MPS components."
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons:
• a) Use only insulated staples or plastic ties to secure cords;
• b) Route and secure cords so that they will not be pinched or damaged when
the cabinet is pushed to the wall;
• c) Not intended for recessed installation in ceilings, or soffits; and
• d) The National Electrical Code (NEC) does not permit cords to be concealed
where damage to insulation may go unnoticed. To prevent fire danger, do
not run cord behind walls, ceilings, soffits, or cabinets where it may be
inaccessible for examination. Cords should be visually examined periodically
and immediately replaced when any damage is noted.
Intended use
• Only use the lamps in dry and clean interiors.
• Do not use lamps in the direct vicinity of chemical emissions
(e.g. oil mist, soldering fumes) or of sources of dust.

Improper use
Any use other than that described as intended use is considered to be improper,
and therefore not permitted. Bosch Rexroth AG is not liable for damage resulting
from improper use. The user alone bears any risks associated with improper use.
Improper use includes:
• Use in environments with high levels of condensation (humidor)
or in chemical emissions.
• Light arrangements that force the user to stare into the LED for a longer
period of time.
• Use without sufficient protection against mechanical effects.
• Use as shelf for objects.
• Use through which the electrical operating tools used are not in compliance
with the national regulations.
• Non-commercial use.

Product description
The system lights SL 12 LED eco (wide) are used for the glare-free lighting of
workstations.
Housing materials: steel sheet, painted (light grey), plastic, aluminium
Identification of the product
Done via the material number (3 842...) on the nameplate (see figure
5.
Assembly
Observe the safety instructions from the manual 3 842 358 820, "General
safety instructions for electrotechnical installation of MPS components."
Make sure that the electrical operating tools used are in compliance with
the national regulations.

Make sure that the installation is only performed by persons with the relevant
electrotechnical knowledge and experience (see manual 3 842 358 820).

Commissioning/operation
• Only start up the product if you have read and understood the required
and supplementary documentation 3 842 358 820, "General safety
instructions for electrotechnical installation of MPS components".
• Make sure that all connections are either being used or are covered. Make
sure that all bolted connections and plug-in connections are properly seated.
• Only start up a product which has been completely installed.
System lights can be switched on/off using a socket strip with an on-switch/
off-switch or the main switch for the working area.
7.
Removal and replacement
The light source of this luminaire should only be replaced by the
manufacturer, a service technician commissioned by the manufacturer or a
person with comparable qualifications.
8.
Disposal
• Dispose of the product in accordance with the regulations in your country.
9.
Upgrading and modification
• Do not modify the product.
• The Bosch Rexroth warranty only applies to the configuration as delivered,
and to approved upgrades. The warranty shall expire following a modification
or upgrading that is beyond the scope of the wiring described in the
supplementary documentation 3 842 358 820, "General safety instructions
for electrotechnical installation of MPS components".
