PREPARING THE EXISTING FIREPLACE
The flue must conform to DTU 24.2 and DTU 24.1 requirements.
Have the materials and the condition of the flue pipe drain
checked. Make the hole for the electrical cable on the right side of
the fireplace (1). It must have a minimum diameter of 8 mm.
Sleeve the hole with a copper pipe (for example), protecting its
ends so as not to damage the cable.
Air inlet
An outdoor fresh air intake facing prevailing winds
is necessary to ensure correct operation, especially if the house is
highly insulated and/or equipped with a mechanical ventilation
system (C.M.V.). It must have a minimum opening section of at
least: 1 dm². Do not use the fireplace if an extractor hood is in
use.
INSTALLATION LEVEL
To achieve good heat distribution throughout the room, install the
insert as close to the floor as possible.
On large fireplaces, do not raise the insert above floor level. The
insert should draw in cold air from the lowest possible level. A
layer of cold air would impede uniform convection.
ATTENTION! Distribution of hot air is prohibited.
SURROUND FRAME
The surround frame acts as a guide for installing the insert.
Remove the two screws. Remove the insert and then the surround
frame, which is screwed on to the pallet.
Check that the masonry finish is level before and during
installation. Check that the base of the insert is level and adjust if
necessary.
INSTALLING THE SURROUND FRAME
Fit the frame and centre it in the fireplace. The depth depends on
the available space and the finishing materials.
Once the surround frame is in position, mark the 4 holes (A) in the
floor. Remove the frame and then drill the holes (ø 8 mm). Insert
the anchor plugs. Secure the frame using the 4 wood screws
provided. Lay the frame horizontally.
Bend the legs (if possible) against the side uprights of the
fireplace. Drill and fix. If the side uprights are too far apart, then
embed the legs into the finishing masonry.
