Ultraheat
Intended use
The Truma Ultraheat supplementary heating unit was designed
in the formats with part no. 30402-01 to 07 for the heating
units Trumatic S 3002 (P) as from date of manufacture 07/81,
Trumatic S 5002 as from 04/98 (with new semi-circular clad-
ding) and in the design formats with part no. 30402-08 to 14
for the Truma S 55 T heater.
Use with Trumatic S 3000 P, S 3002 K, S 5002 K and
Trumatic S 5002 up to model 04/98 (with old rectangular
cover) is not permissible.
Other forms of use are also possible after consultation
with Truma.
Approval
Declaration of conformity
The Truma Ultraheat has been tested by the DVGW as an aux-
iliary electric heater and complies with gas equipment direc-
tive 90/396/EEC, EMC directive 2004/108/EC, low voltage di-
rective 2006/95/EC, heating equipment directive 2001/56/EC,
the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive 2000/53/EC and the associ-
ated EC directives and is entitled to bear the CE symbol.
The CE Product Identity Number of the heating system
remains valid without change.
Regulations
Guarantee claims, warranty claims and acceptance of liability
will be ruled out in the event of the following:
modifications to the unit (including accessories),
modifications to the exhaust duct and the cowl,
failure to use original Truma parts as replacement parts and
accessories,
failure to follow the installation and operating instructions.
Furthermore, the approval for operating the appliance will
become invalid and in some countries also the approval for
operating the vehicle.
Installation instructions
The appliance may only be installed and repaired by an
expert. Before starting work, carefully read and follow the
installation instructions!
Installation in new vehicles

Break out perforated section (1) on the exterior of installation
box (2) for passing through the control electronics.
Trumatic S 5002 only:
Break out the lower part of the interior of installation box (3)
at perforation (4).
Insert heating element (5) from the inside of installation box (2)
and fasten by means of six B 3.5 x 9.5 mm screws (6).
Install installation box (2), installation box (3) and Trumavent
fan as per installation instructions included with the heater.
If connected in series, a mounting and holding device is
of advantage.
Carry out further installation work in accordance with the
installation instructions enclosed with the heater.
Retrofitting in existing vehicles
Dismantling heater
Shut the fast-acting stop valves on the gas supply and gas
cylinder.
Remove the heater cover.

Unscrew gas supply (7) underneath the vehicle.
Loosen exhaust duct sealing plate (8) by means of screw (9)
and turn to detach. Pull exhaust duct (10) completely out of
the sleeve.
Unscrew locking screws (11) on the heater base and remove
the heater completely.

Unscrew locking screws (12) on installation box (2) and
remove the latter.
Preparatory work and installation boxes
For S 3002 (P) up to model 05/98 only

Position the enclosed stencil in the middle of the installa-
tion box interior so that the lower edge of the stencil is flush
with the upper edge of the recess (14) in the installation
box. Mark the six holes for the fastening screws and the
corner points for the control electronics lead-through. Drill
eight holes with a diameter of 4 mm.
Create an opening (1) for the control electronics by cutting
into the side (with sheet-cutting shears) and then bending
back to the rear wall.
For S 3002 (P) from model 05/98, S 5002 and S 55 T only

Unscrew the lower locking screws (15) on the rear side of
the installation box and break out the lower section of
installation box interior (3) at perforation (4).
Installing the heating element

Insert heating element (5) from the inside of installation box (2)
and fasten from the rear with six B 3.5 x 9.5 mm screws (6).
Reinsert complete installation box (2) and secure with
six screws (12).

Position the heater in the base cut-out and re-fasten with the
five locking screws (11).

Connecting the exhaust duct to the heater:
The Biege-Boy (Fig. F – part no. 30030-33000) is a sub-
stantial help when bending the stainless steel exhaust
duct and fitting the O-ring.
