Switching Profiles

7.1.1

Description

Sensor Principle / Evaluation Logic
The sensor performs the detection as a clocked signal that
is evaluated for switching signal generation.
Switching points are defined by means of setpoints that
can be determined using various teach processes.
Switchpoint Logic
With switching logic Light on/High Active, the switch
output switches to high if the current signal value is greater
than the set (taught) setpoint. With Dark on/Low Active this
logic is inverted.

Switchpoint Mode

Single Point Mode
In Single Point Mode only one switching point (setpoint) is
defined.
Switching behavior:
– Signal value ≥ switching point plus a defined
hysteresis: Output active
– Signal value ≤ switching point minus a defined
hysteresis: Output inactive

Teach Process

The setpoint that is to be taught must be in the validity
range of the signal value for a successful teach-in.
An active teach process is indicated by quick flashing of
the green LED. If the red LED is switched on for two
seconds, a teach is not possible.
Single Value Teach (1-point teach)
► TEACH switch in Aut position; Press "+" button for 1 to
2.5 seconds, then release.
With Single Value Teach, the switching point (setpoint) is
defined via a teach point. Moreover, this is a static process,
i.e., the signal value is constant during the teach phase.
