3.1 Installation instructions
The following tools and materials are required for installation of
your solar station:
• 1 shovel or spade
• 1 earth drill ø 10 cm recommended (Gallagher article no.
704668)
Installation is easier when undertaken by two people.
• 1 sledgehammer (Gallagher article no. 017614)
• 1 side cutter / wire cutter
• 1 wrench 13 mm
• 1 wrench 17 mm

3.2 Installation steps

Installing the earth wire
Only optimally earthed energizers bring full power to the fence. The
distance of the earthing to power lines, telephone cables, water
pipes and buildings should be at least 10 m.
Follow the instructions carefully.
3.2.1 Digging a trench
Dig a trench of 20-40 cm deep and with the following length:
• Model MBS2800i approx.. 25 m
• Model MBS1800i approx.. 15 m
• Model MBS800 approx. 10m
3.2.2 Reference - earth (A)
Take the 1.0 m long galvanised earth rod
excavated trench approx. 90 cm into the ground. Use the earth rod
as a centre point.
This earth rod is needed as an earth reference point.
3.2.3. Earthing (B)
Drill a hole at least 5 m from the centre point. It should be approx.
1.0 m deep and 10 cm in diameter. Pour the earthing mixture
into the hole.
Connect two earth rods of 1.0 m
using a connector.
Take the connected earth rods, place them in the centre of the
hole and drive them down approx. 1.9 m into the ground. Repeat
this process at intervals of 10 m until all the earth rods have been
successfully installed. (see figure 3.2)

3.2.4 Attaching the ground cable
Remove approx. 5 cm of the plastic insulation from one end of the
supplied ground cable
clamp to the furthest earth rod.

Pull the ground cable to the next earth rod and cut the cable (+
approx. 10 cm for attachment). Once again remove the plastic
insulation and clamp the wire to the earth rod using the earthing
clamp.
Repeat this process until all the earth rods are connected.
3.2.5 Connecting the earth rods to the energizer (B)
1. Connect the green earth output on the device to the earthing
system. Remove approx. 5 cm of insulating plastic from one
end of the ground cable, loosen the screw on the green earth
output, and pass the wire through the clamp. Now tighten the
clamp again. Make sure that the wire is firmly clamped.
2. Thread the ground cable through the tube out to the earthing
system. (first pair of earth rods (B)) and shorten the cable (+10
cm).
3. Once again remove the plastic insulation and clamp the wire
to the earth rod.
3.2.6 Connection reference - earth (A)
Connect the black reference earth output on the device and the
1.0 m earth rod (centre point) to the ground cable. Remove approx.
5 cm of insulating plastic from one end of the ground cable, loosen
the screw on the black reference earth output, and pass the wire
through the clamp. Tighten the clamp again and make sure that the
wire is firmly clamped.
Pull the ground cable through the opening and the protective tube
to the centre point.
Cut the cable (+10 cm) and remove the insulation. Attach the wire
end to the earth rod using the earth clamp.
3.2.7 Is the earthing sufficient?
The supplied earthing system is sufficient for normal ground
conditions. If this is not sufficient (value of the earthing in the
display > 0.6 kV), the system can be expanded using one or more
extra super grounding setssets

9 3.2.8 Connection to the fence
Remove approx. 5 cm of insulating plastic from one end of the
ground cable, loosen the red (fence) connector and thread the wire
through the clamp. Tighten the clamp again and make sure that the
wire is firmly clamped.
Pull the ground cable through the opening and the protective tube
to the connection point on the fence. Cut the cable (10cm) and
remove the insulation.
Attach the other end of the cable to the fence using the wire
connecting screw
Attach the bare wire using the earthing
