The operating instructions
... apply to all control monitors of type S 200. There are the following
differences between the individual units:
• Rating of the permissible AC or DC supply which is indicated on the type label
of the unit.
• Setting of the cycle time [s], indicated on the type label (pot. 2).
... are part of the unit. They contain information about the correct handling of
the product. Read them before use to get familiar with operating conditions,
mounting and operation. Adhere to the safety instructions. The operating
instructions are made for authorised persons according to the EMC and low
voltage guidelines.
1. Safety instructions
F
ollow the operating instructions. Non-observance of the instructions,
operation which is not in accordance with use as prescribed below,
wrong installation or handling can result in damage to the unit or
injury to the person using the equipment.
T
he unit may only be installed, connected and activated by a qualified
electrician, as voltages which are dangerous on contact may arise
during the installation and as the safe functioning of the unit and the
plant is only guaranteed when installed correctly.
D
isconnect the unit externally before handling it. Also disconnect any
independently-supplied relay load circuits.

ake care when operating the unit while it is switched on. The pro-
tection rating IP 20 means this is only permissible when carried out
by qualified staff.
T
he design of the unit corresponds to protection class II except for the
terminal blocks where protection against accidental contact (safety
from finger-touch to IP20) for operation by qualified staff is only guar-
anteed if the terminal screw has been completely screwed in. This is why
the unit always has to be mounted in a control cabinet of at least IP54
which can only be opened by means of keys.
