Operation/Functional Description
a) Fabric gloves
The gloves are intended to protect your hands from dirt, e. g. when changing a tyre or the like.
However, they must not be used for work that requires special protective equipment!
b) High visibility vest
Especially in the evening, or during the night, wearing the warning vest makes you more visible
in headlights. In the event of an accident or breakdown, it is compulsory in many countries to
wear a high visibility vest when you leave your vehicle. This also applies to the positioning of a
warning triangle! Where applicable, observe the appropriate regulations in the country where
you are staying.
If you use the foil rain cape (see c), the high visibility vest must be worn over the rain
cape, for safety reasons.
c) Foil rain cape
You often do not have suitable clothing when you breakdown in rain or snow, and you need both
hands to fix the problem, neither is an umbrella of any use. The foil rain cape can simply be put
on over your clothes and it will keep out rain and snow. If you dry the foil afterwards, the rain
cape can be used again.
If you use the warning vest (see b), it must be worn over the foil rain cape, for safety
reasons.
d) Warning triangle
Follow the regulations in your country on the distance that must be kept between the vehicle and
the warning ,when positioning the triangle. In general: The higher the speed on the road where
your car is situated, the triangle must be positioned further away from the back of the vehicle. It
must be placed visibly, but not so that it obstructs other vehicles and therefore presents a
hazard.
When you unfold the warning triangle and walk to the point where it is to be placed, pay attention
to the oncoming traffic! The same applies when you place the triangle back in the vehicle.
Wear the warning vest, put it on directly on leaving the car!
e) Tow rope
The total maximum weight of the vehicle to be towed (incl. car occupants and load) must not
exceed 2200 kg (rolling load)!
The tow rope is only suitable for pulling a rolling vehicle. It is not suitable for vehicle
recovery or lifting loads, since greater forces may arise - there is a risk that the tow
rope will break, risk of injury!
Consult the operating instructions for the vehicles, to see where the fixing points for the tow rope
are located. Often, on modern vehicles, a small plastic cover on the bumper must be removed
in order to screw in a hook.
f) Battery jumper cable
www.conrad.com
• The battery jumper cable is suitable for vehicles with petrol engines up to 3 l and diesel engines
up to 2 l.
• First check whether both vehicle batteries have the same voltage (12V or 24V). Compare the
Version 02/09
label on the batteries!
• Then verify whether the negative pole or the positive pole is connected to the car body. At the
same time you should consider that there are vehicles with a plastic car body.
• Start the vehicle, which is to be used to recharge the empty battery, first.
• Connect a clamp on the red cable to the positive pole of the flat battery. Then, connect the
other clamp on the red cable to the positive pole on the fully charged battery.
• After this, connect the negative pole on the fully charged battery to a metal part on the body of
the car with the flat battery, or better with the engine block (e. g. the earth cable of the engine
block to the car body).
• Now start the vehicle with the flat battery! Interrupt an failed start after 10 seconds and try
again after approximately half a minute.
• If it does not start after several tries, please contact your car workshop.
• To unclamp the battery jumper cable do the above in reverse order.
First disconnect the black cable from the negative pole (it is not important, from which vehicle)
and then the red cable from the positive pole.

If the voltage is different, jump starting is not possible as there is a risk of explosion!
In most vehicles, the negative pole is connected to the car body (and of course to the
engine block/gear box).
Do not use the negative pole on the flat battery to make a connection, since
explosive gas mixtures might be ignited by sparks!
Do not stop the engine of the vehicle with the flat battery but drive some distance to
recharge the battery with the dynamo. During this time, switch off all consumer loads
that are not needed (e. g. seat heating, rear window heating, radio and so on).
Please dispose the product, when it is no longer in use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
