 Remove the batteries from the battery compartment when you are not using the remote control for more than
a month. Make sure that the battery compartment is always closed when the battery is inserted!
 Only operate the device when the battery compartment is closed!
 Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be re-charged!
 New batteries should not be used together with used batteries!
Always use batteries with the same type!

 Never short the terminals of the batteries!
Start up:
Attention:
In order to prevent your hearing from being stressed too much by the very loud alarm tone, do not hold
the device close to your head during the function check! To avoid frightening noise-sensitive persons such as small
children, do not hold the unit in the same room during the function check!
Attention:
Check the function of the smoke detector weekly!
Activation of the smoke alarm detector:
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment as described in the previous section. If the batteries are correctly
inserted (observe polarity!), the red LED flashes briefly and flashes 3 times. The smoke alarm detector is now ready
for operation.
Functional check:
To check the function, keep the TEST button pressed for approx. 3s. The alarm tone sounds and the LED lights up
red. This is to check whether the electronics, the alarm of the smoke alarm detector and the batteries are
functioning. The alarm tone stops immediately after releasing the TEST button.
Note: If neither the alarm sounds nor the LED flashes, the batteries may be flat or the unit may be defective. First
replace the batteries. If the unit still does not work, it is defective. In this case, the unit must be replaced with a new
functioning unit!
Temporary muting the Alarm:
In the event of a false alarm, the alarm tone can be muted for approx. 10 minutes. It is essential to ensure that the
alarm was not triggered by a fire! To mute the alarm temporarily, press the TEST button. Then open doors and
windows to clean the air. If the air still has a high number of combustion particles after 10 minutes, the alarm will
sound again. The mute function can be repeated as often as required by pressing the TEST button. Activation of the
mute function is not possible in case of excessive smoke development. To deactivate the mute function, press the
TEST button!
Recurrent self-test of the smoke alarm detector on its function:
The smoke alarm detector performs every 40 seconds a self-test. You can see this by a short blink of the LED.
Networking several devices with each other :
General information on networking:
Up to 15 units from the same manufacturer and the same product type can be networked together. The units should
not be installed and operated further than 20m apart. For networking, you need at least two networked devices. Each
device is provided with a code by the manufacturer. There are a total of over 60,000 encodings. If one device is
connected to another one, it will accept the code of the other. An already networked device, which is to be connected
to a new device, takes over the code of the new device. Please note that devices may only be interlinked within an
apartment or a family home!
