WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The product must not be used in ATEX zones
0, 1, 20, 21. In addition, it must not be used
in areas in which there is an identified risk of
electromagnetic waves, ionizing radiation or
ultrasound (see EN 1127-1, sections 5.3.9 to
5.3.12).
This device may only be operated with the in-
dividually identified media (diluted windshield
washer fluid, brake fluid, air, and water). Only
verified and approved hoses must be used, see

6 Commissioning
Before every use, the hose reel must always be
checked for visible damage to the hose reel and ac-
cessories, in particular, the hose equipment and hose
connections.
Dust deposits and caked layers must be removed,
especially from the rotating parts such as the inside
and outside of the drum, taking care not to stir up the
dust. Test the operation of the rotating parts, for ex-
ample, the swivel and the hose outlet.
Especially at temperatures below 0 °C, if water is used
as the medium, ensure that remains of the medium do
not freeze and cause the hose reel to stop function-
ing. The remains of the medium must be emptied from
the hose.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Defective parts must be replaced or necessary
repair work carried out in suitable specialist
workshops before every use. Only original re-
placement parts must be used.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Check the operation of the shutoff device on
the supply pipe system.
Check that the ATEX zone marking and the medium,
with pressure and temperature, are permitted for the
intended use (see type label).
See also the Instruction Manual.
Connecting to the pipework system: See Instruction
Manual.
Avoid contact with chemical products.
Where accessories are used, they must be installed
securely and without leaks.
The additional safety requirements must be observed
when accessories are used.

WARNING! Risk of personal injury
The carried medium must never be released
unless the end of the supply hose, with any ac-
cessories, is held firmly in the hands.
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage
Hose whip if the end of the supply hose is
loose.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Only release the extended supply hose when
the ratchet mechanism is securely engaged at
the reel.
When retracting, hold the supply hose firmly in
the hands until the hose stop reaches the hose
outlet.
7 Earth control measurement after
installation/service
Check the earthing between the coupling of the sup-
ply hose (fully unrolled from the reel) and the earth
point of the hose reel. The ohmmeter must indicate
6
less than 10
ohm (R < 1M Ω). See Figure 1.

8 Decommissioning
• Shut off the supply of the carried medium at the
supply point.
• Loosen the supply hose, with the installed accessor-
ies where appropriate. Empty the hose of any liquid
medium.
• Remove the intake hose from the supply point and

WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Supply and intake hoses must be mounted by
skilled personnel.
Only conductive hoses, (R < 1M Ω), must be used. All
hose couplings and connections must be in stainless

The supply pipe system must undergo an electrical
continuity check in addition to a cold water pressure
test.
If accessories are attached to the supply hose, the
manufacturer's instructions must be followed. Make
