13. Do not operate the charging unit with a damaged
cable or plug as this may cause short circuits and
electric shocks. If it is damaged, stop operation im-
mediately. Replace the charging unit with an iden-
tical device as listed in the product specifications.
In order to avoid any risks arising from the device
due to a damaged mains cable, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, a service representative of
the manufacturer, or a qualified person.
14. The rechargeable battery in this product is not fully
charged when shipped. It must therefore be fully
charged before using the product for the first time.
Fully charge the rechargeable battery for the first
charging cycle.
15. Do not use a charging unit that has been dropped
or subjected to a heavy impact.
16. The voltage indicated on the charging unit type
plate must match the voltage of the power source.
17. Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
18. Unplug the mains plug of the charging unit when
it is not in use.
Reducing vibration and noise
To reduce the effects of noise and vibration, limit the
operating time and wear personal protective equip-
ment.
Take the following points into account, in order to mini-
mise the risks from vibrations and noise:
• Only use the product as described in these instruc-
tions.
• Make sure that the product is in good condition and
well maintained.
• Use the correct accessories for the product and
make sure that they are in good condition.
• Maintain a good grip of the handles/gripping surfac-
es.
• Maintain the product in accordance with these in-
structions.
• Plan your work schedule to spread the use of over a
long period of time.
• Prolonged use of the product exposes the user to
vibrations that can cause a number of ailments col-
lectively known as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
(HAVS), including whitening fingers, as well as spe-
cific diseases such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
To reduce the risk of such conditions, always wear
gloves and keep your hands warm when using the
product.

6. Residual risks

The product has been built according to state-of-the-
art and the recognised technical safety rules. However,
individual residual risks can arise during operation.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety infor-
mation" and the "Proper use" together with the oper-
ating manual as a whole are observed.
• Avoid accidentally starting the product: do not press
the operating button when inserting the plug in a
socket. Use the tool attachment that is recommend-
ed in this operating manual. This is how to ensure
that your product delivers optimum performance.
• Damage to health due to vibration emissions if the
product is used for a long period of time or is not
handled and maintained properly.
• Injury and damage to property due to broken attach-
ments or as a result of sudden impacts or jolts from
concealed objects during use.
• Danger of injury and risk of property damage due to
flying objects.
