3.2 Getting Started
Check before use
•
Perform a general visual inspection of the head and breathing hose. The material must not show any cracks,
leaks or defects. See Section 4.2
•
Check the correct / proper mounting of the face seal on the mask frame. The face seal must be mounted cor-
rectly, otherwise no sufficient protection can be guaranteed. See Section 4.3
Putting on
Note:
A detailed fitting instruction with detailed information and illustration can be requested from your ma-
nufacturer.
Remove the protective foil from the visor and dispose of the foil.

the mask and snap it into the mask frame.
Step 3
Adjust headband. Adjust the headband loosely to allow it to be fixed later.
Step 4
Putting on the Multimask Pro: Hold the Multimask Pro with one hand and the headband in the other
hand. Move the mask towards your face and put on the headgear. Keep holding the mask with one
hand.

hand. Bring the mask to your face, put the headgear on and pull the flap under your chin. Then hold the
mask firmly with one hand.

Step 5
Fix the headgear: Continue to hold the mask with one hand and pull the headgear with the other hand,
first on one side and then on the other, by pulling the headgear sideways backwards. Then release the
mask and check the mask fit. If necessary, the headgear must be readjusted.
Adjust the headgear in a position that the Multimask Pro fits tightly to the entire face and does not
detach from the face during movements.
Caution: If the headgear is adjusted too tightly, the 1st generation neoprene / silicone face seal may
come off or slips.
Step 6:
Check mask fit: The Multimask Pro must fit with the exhalation valve centered in the face. No leakage
must be visible or noticeable at the face seal. The Multimask Pro must fit comfortably and at the same
time tight or close to the face.
Fig. 5.0 + 5.1
Caution: If the Multimask Pro does not fit comfortably and tightly to the face and a leakage can be noti-
ced or felt, the adjustment of the headgear must be corrected. If a secure fit is still not ensured after that,
a different size/version of the face seal must be selected, since the selected size/version is too large/
small or unsuitable for the user. If none of the available face seals is suitable, we recommend that you
switch to an alternative headgear, as the required protection class may not be achieved.
Note:
See also operating instructions for the respective blower filter unit / compressed air control valve
(e-breathe e-Flow / PM Proflow 2 SC + EX / e-breathe e-Line) and PM Filter or e-breathe Filter!)
Taking off the Multimask
•
After leaving the dangerous area, remove the headgear to the front and pull the Multimask Pro away from
your face and put it down. The Multimask Pro must not be carried or lifted by the breathing hose. Place the
headgear on a clean surface and lay it down with the visor facing down.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance
Maintenance and cleaning work may only be carried out by appropriately qualified personnel who are well trained
and familiar with the nature of the task.
4.1 Cleaning and Disinfection
The following cleaning material is recommended for the daily care of the equipment: PM Desk or Curacid PSA Ultra.
Dilute the cleaning material with lukewarm water and wipe the equipment with a cloth. Use a soft brush on badly
polluted items. Then rinse thoroughly with tap water. Then wipe the individual items with a dry cloth and stand them
to dry.
For immersion disinfection pour cold water into a bowl and add the appropriate quantity PM Desk or Curacid PSA
Ultra. Submerse the Multimask completely and move it around in the water to remove air pockets. After 15 minutes
remove the Multimask from the bowl and rinse under clean water, then allow to dry.
Only the Neoprene face seal can be washed in a washing machine, at maximum 40 degrees and maximum spin speed
of 600 rpm, with regular washing powder.
Important! Absolutely no solvents, for example, acetone, turpentine or bleach (borax), hot water, high-pressure air or
high-pressure water may be used for cleaning the Multimask.
