2. Restrictions / Notes
GENERAL EN12941 / EN14594
2.1
This product may only be used by qualified persons who are fully aware of the dangers in the workplace and
are familiar with the use and handling of the device.
2.2
Respiratory protection equipment must be selected according to the type and concentration of hazardous
substances.
2.3
Insufficient warning properties of hazardous substances require special rules of use.
2.4
If the Face Seal does not fit correctly the pressurization required for the protection factor required will not
be achieved. The required protection factor can only be achieved when the Multimask Pro fits correctly.
2.5
The seal of the mask to the face must be assured. The required seal cannot be achieved if beard, hair, certain
hairstyles, deep scars, spectacle frames or items of clothing intervene between the seal and the face. (Spec-
tacles with a special frame can be supplied if requested.)
2.6
Before entering a contaminated room the mask seal must be tested in accordance with Paragraphs 3.3.1
and 3.3.2. The required degree of protection can only be achieved when the Multimask is correctly fitted.
2.7
If the respirator is used in areas with a risk of explosion, the relevant regulations must be observed.
2.8
The Multimask Pro must be used with the blower unit running. If the blower is not operating, none or only
a small respiratory protection function of the device can be expected. There is a danger of an immediate,
strong accumulation of carbon dioxide. A blower unit failure is considered to be an exceptional condition.
2.9
Take care that the breathing hose does not catch on nearby objects because the danger exists that the hose
can lose its airtight seal.
2.10
During strong breathing under high workload a negative pressure can develop in the respiratory connec-
tion during the inhalation phase, which can lead to the penetration of contaminations.
2.11
Using the equipment in high wind speed environments may reduce the protection factor.
2.12
The Multimask cannot be used in case of difficulty breathing, if you perceive smell or taste of contamination
or if you feel some kind of discomfort (dizziness, nausea or similar).
2.13
If you are unsure about the selection and handling of the equipment, please contact your supervisor or the
point of sale.

FILTERING RESPIRATORY PROTECTION EN12941
2.14
Filter devices should not be used if the environmental conditions are unknown. In cases of doubt, isola-
ting systems should be used which operate independently of the environmental atmosphere.
2.15
Filter units are not allowed to be used in confined spaces (e.g. containers, tanks), as a lack of oxygen or
heavy oxygen displacing gases (e.g. carbon dioxide) may occur.
2.16
When a filter unit is used, the oxygen content of the surrounding air must be at least 17% by volume (this
limit may vary according to national regulations). The product cannot be used if the ambient air does not
have a normal oxygen concentration or in atmospheres with oxygen or oxygen-enriched air.
2.17
A gas filter does not protect against particles and a particle filter does not protect against gases and va-
pours. If in doubt, use combination filters.
2.18
Normal filter devices don't offer protection against certain gases such as CO (carbon monoxide), CO2
(carbon dioxide) or N2 (nitrogen) and nitrogen oxides.
2.19
Particle filters against radioactive substances and microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi and their spo-
res) should only be used once.
2.20
Carefully check the identification of the filters to be used together with the blower and make sure not to
confuse the classification according to EN 12941 or EN 12942 with the classification of the blower accor-
ding to other classification standards.
2.21
Filters should not be attached directly to the face mask or breathing hose.
2.22
Minimum air volume flow PAPR >160 l/min
ISOLATING RESPIRATORY PROTECTION EN14594
2.23
The breathing air to be used must comply with EN12021.
2.24
The water content of the breathing air must be kept within the limits of EN 12021 to prevent the device
from freezing.
2.25
The product must not be used in atmospheres with oxygen or oxygen enriched air.
2.26
The device may not provide adequate protection in highly toxic atmospheres.
2.27
When using hearing protectors or noise-reducing communication equipment, the reduced audibility of the
warning of the compressed air control valve must be taken into account and appropriate instructions must
be provided.
2.28
Minimum volume flow of compressed air control valve >160 l/min
Maximum volume flow of compressed air control valve < 310 l/min
3.1 Unpacking
Check the packing list to ensure that the equipment is
complete and has not been damaged during transport.
