Make sure that:
• Gases produced in the insulating liquid can flow
unimpeded to the eBR
• The red arrow on the eBR points to the
H
conservator.

• The flanges are stressed evenly when tightening the
screws.
• The slope of the pipe to the conservator is between 0°
and 5°.
• The position of the eBR in relation to the direction of
flow does not deviate from the perpendicular by more
than 5°.
• The pipe has no elbows, and bends are designed
preferably with an inside pipe radius R > 100 mm.
• The free pipe length between the eBR and the tank
should be at least 10 times the internal diameter
• The free pipe length between the eBR and the oil
conservator should be at least 3 times the internal
diameter (Should the distance exceed the above values,
a support has to be provided in the immediate vicinity of
the eBR).
CAUTION
Make sure during installation that no dirt, moisture or foreign
matters get into the relay.
The insulating liquid of the transformer/reactor may not contain
conductive materials!

CAUTION
Electrical connections should only be performed by qualified
and skilled personnel trained in the applicable health and safety
regulations of the relevant country.

Dangerous electrical voltages!
It is imperative to deactivate the power supply during wiring of

the device.
During the terminal box assembly, use caution not to damage
the OR gasket. If this occurs it must be substituted.
If you do not use all the 2 cable glands pay attention to close the
free cable gland with a plug or gasket.
Multicore signal leads can be fitted in the Buchholz relay
through cable glands (M25x1.5 – B/3).
A conductor cross section of 1.5 mm
mended (4x1mm
for analog/digital output). The maximum cross section
that can be clamped is 2.5 mm
Proceed following the actions:
• Unscrew the 5 unlosable M5 screws (B/1)
• Remove the cap (B/2)
• Insert the lead through the cable gland (B/3)
• Connect the lead to the terminal board (B/4) according
to the chosen electrical scheme (tab.1-2).
