9 Overview Securepoint Operation Center

The Securepoint Operation Center (SOC) can also be used for administration
and configuration as usual. The Securepoint Operation Center allows you to
manage your Securepoint NextGen UTM's and VPN gateways simply,
centrally, remotely, manage configurations, monitor and backup.
The concept was adapted to the Administration Web Interface of Securepoint
Version 11. The operation center has a client-server architecture. The data
provider (server) of the SOC can be installed centrally in your data center on a
(virtual) server and can communicate with your existing Securepoint systems.
As is the case with the old Securepoint Security Manager, there is the possibility
of a direct SSH connection to individual firewalls which offers you the usual
settings for the administration web interface. The Operation Center client is
installed locally on a computer. Using the Securepoint Data Provider service,
the Operation Center accesses a database in which configuration backups and
monitoring data are stored. This service can be installed locally on a computer
or held centrally.
