The FO-Repeater has the following features:
Two independent optical input ports (port 1, port 2) for connection of multimode fibres
with ST plugs.
To port 1 and port 2: Transmission of synchronous and asynchronous signals (data) in
the range of 300 bit/s to 4.096 Mbit/s if singlemode fibres are connected to port 3, in the
range of 300 bit/s to 1.5 Mbit/s if multimode fibres are connected to port 3.
Automatic baud rate adaptation to synchronous and asynchronous serial signals.
Bit-transparent data transmission, i.e. no setting is required for the protocol used.
Connection to the protection device using fibre-optic cable to a 820 nm FO module
integrated there.
Maximum fibre-optic length for the connection protection device ↔ FO-Repeater: 1.5 km
using 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm fibres.
Port 3: Connection of 9/125 µm singlemode fibres or 62.5/125 µm and 50/125 µm
multimode fibres to a 1310/1550 nm wide area module (multimode only with 1310 nm)
using duplex LC-connector; with the bidirectional FO-Repeater, the 9/125 µm singlemode
fibres are connected via single LC-connectors.
The maximum fibre length for connection FO-Repeater ↔ FO-Repeater can be 4 km,
8 km, 24 km, 60 km, 100 km or 170 km, depending on the option ordered. With the
bidirectional FO-Repeater, the maximum fibre length is 40 km. Integrated commissioning
aids (Echo Mode) can be activated using the Reset push-button.
A fault on the remote connection is indicated by an Error or Link-Down / Echo Mode LED.
Wide range power supply unit for direct voltage DC: 24 V to DC: 250 V (limit voltage
range DC: 19 V to DC: 300 V) and alternating voltage AC: 115 V to AC: 250 V (limit
voltage range AC: 92 V to AC: 286 V) with contact output GOK.
Power consumption < 4 W.
Aluminium die-cast case (up version /CC) resp. rigid steel-plate housing (from version /
DD), dimensions 188 mm × 120 mm × 56 mm (W × D × H) for standard rail mounting.
