Guarantee claims – After-sales service – possible costs.
5 years guarantee on all mattresses, BOXSPRING and TOPPER
cores as from date of purchase. Covers, BOXSPRING components,
handles and grips are excluded from this extended guarantee, since
their durability is largely determined by the care given to the mattress
and the stress each mattress is subjected to can differ greatly. To
avoid damage that is not covered by this guarantee and to lengthen
the mattress life please therefore observe the care notes and the
remarks in the operating instructions carefully. hülsta can not be held
responsible for later signs of damage above and beyond your statutory
legal rights.
In the case of a claim being made on the guarantee we reserve the right
to provide a suitable replacement or to repair the faulty product. We
expressly reserve the right to make two follow-up deliveries or repairs.
All valid guarantee claims are carried out free of charge in the first two
years after date of purchase. In the third year the value of the guarantee
claim is reduced by 40% to reflect product wear. In the fourth year this
increases by a further 20% to 60% of the purchase price and again in
the fifth year by another 20% to a total of 80% of the purchase price.
This extension to the guarantee period does not impinge on or interrupt
in any way any other guarantees we may provide, i.e. the guarantee
definitely ends after 5 years. If a claim is accepted, our above services
are free of charge for you as the customer. Otherwise, any packaging
or transport costs must be borne by the purchaser, just as costs for
any repairs or replacements requested outside of the guarantee.
3 years guarantee on electric components.
hülsta can not be held responsible for later signs of damage. To make
a claim on the guarantee the fault must be described in detail. Contact
your hülsta dealer with this guarantee passport and the invoice. We
cannot accept any claims made on the guarantee without these
documents. If the claim is recognized within the warranty period, your
rights under the guarantee apply. If the claim is accepted pending a
check in our factories, the factory analysis shall decide whether the
claim can be recognized.
Guarantee claim
Contact your hülsta dealer with this guarantee passport and the
invoice. We cannot accept any claims made on the guarantee without
these documents. The date of invoice of the dealers is the date when
the guarantee becomes valid.
The hülsta guarantee covers faults in material and manufacture.
Damage due to improper use or normal wear is not covered by this
guarantee.
Nor can hülsta be held responsible for any false advice given by the
dealer's sales personnel. We reserve the right to decide whether
guarantee claims are met by repair or replacement. If neither should
be possible in the case of the model in question, we reserve the
right to deliver a similar product. A claim made on the guarantee
neither interrupts nor extends the validity period of the guarantee.
Certain kinds of stains are not recognized by hülsta as due cause for
complaint. They arise from warmth or moisture retention in/under the
mattress and have nothing to do with the materials employed. Colour

alterations in mattress foams are also quite normal. The same applies
to folds in the cover as a result of use and/or the base frame being
adjusted. These aspects are therefore not covered by the guarantee.
BOXSPRING components that are so badly soiled that an inspection
can not be carried out for hygienic reasons are also excluded from the
extended guarantee period.
9. After-sales service
Please inquire about possible costs that may be incurred before
making a claim. If you request the services of your hülsta dealers,
please consider that, once the legal guarantee period has been
exceeded, customer charges may be incurred for such services (work
and transport, packaging and freight costs).
10. Recycling / Disposal
Each particular country regulates to what extent mattresses,
BOXSPRING and TOPPER units can be recycled or how they can be
disposed of. Please take advice from the authorities responsible or
from your local hülsta dealer.
The drive of your hülsta motor-driven BOXSPRING bed contains
electronic components, cables, metals, plastic materials etc. The
drive must be disposed of in accordance with the valid environmental
regulations of the corresponding country. In accordance with regulations
on old electrical articles, the drive of your Boxspring bed is considered
to be a large electrical article (WEEE-Germany) and therefore must not
be disposed of with standard bulky household waste, etc. The drive
must be disposed of separately at electrical waste collecting stations.
The drive is to be removed from the Boxspring bed, if this can be done
with reasonable effort.
These instructions are an important aid for the successful and safe
disassembly/assembly of the drive in the motor-driven BOXSPRING
bed. The assembly/disassembly instructions help you to avoid danger,
repair costs and times of non-use and to increase the reliability and
lifespan of the machine.
CAUTION
Please be sure to observe the notes in these instructions! They will
help you to avoid, through errors in assembly or connecting,
• the risk of injury or accidents and
• damage to the drive system or the end product.
First remove the plug (fig. 8), place the Box on its side (secure against
tilting over). Remove the plug from the mains connection and the hand
switch/receiver (fig. 9). Remove the screws from the drive lead where
it is connected to the Box (see fig. 10 - fig 11. A second person should
hold the drive lead firmly while this is done). Remove the connecting
bolts of the drive to the drive lead with a spike or similar object (fig. 12)
- this frees the drive so that it can be disposed of with electrical waste.
Dispose of the other components of the Box in accordance with the
regulations stipulated by the corresponding country.
