The hold of silicone border can be limited by strong hairiness,
very soft hypodermis or large extent increases of the thigh.

Application
Medical compression stockings may not be tightened or worn
with open wounds. If compression stockings are prescribed
with open wounds, a professional sore treatment and cover
has to be provided.
If necessary, carry out a skin inspection and check whether skin
damage or pressure marks are present that require diagnostic
confirmation.
Usually compression stockings are not to be worn during sleep
or when lying long times, unless the doctor recommended or
ordered explicitly a special night supply.
Unpleasant folds in the hollow of the knee can occur while sitting
in strongly bent positions or kneeling for long periods. If necessary
clarify the alternative supply of knee stockings with your doctor or
put a light compress inside the sock into the hollow of the knee.
If swellings are present before the donning of the stocking, try
to wipe them off in direction of the heart while holding or putting
up your legs ( for example lying on the back).
In case of unusually strong swollen legs possibly with skin fur-
rows, in particular swollen foot backs or toes, the suspicion of
lymphoedema arises.
Hereby complex physical decongestion is advisable. This supports
compression therapy by manual lymphatic drainage, exercise
therapy and skin care.
The handling and care take place as per advice from the doctor
or medical personnel.
If there are difficulties with putting on the stockings, pressure or
tightness feelings, e.g. diabetes or foot illnesses or during strong
perspiration within the toe range, the open toe is to be preferred.
For therapeutic reasons it is recommended to put on the
stockings as soon as you get up in the morning. At this
time your legs are least congestion and at their smallest.
To ensure therapy success a regular daily application and
procurement at the latest after 6 months is highly recom-
mended, if the disease requires it. Additional excercises,
gymnastics and physiotherapy excercises will support
the soothing effect of your COMPRESSANA stockings.

Useful advice

Have your compression stockings checked regularly latest after
6 months at your dispensing chemist or specialist retailer. This
ensures the quality and medical effect of the products.
For sensitive skin or striking irritations we recommend compres-
sion products with cotton inside like COMPRESSANA COTTON
or LINEA COTTON.
Use COMPRESSANA hypoallergenic adhesive lotion for fixation
and protection against slippage.
The adhesive lotion can be applied on all parts of the skin which
is covered by the stockings. Do not use within the range of the
silicone coating.
