Medical compression stockings exert a firm pressure on the parts of the body which are to be treated. Of particular importance
for the medical effectiveness, correct fit and wearing comfort are both the accurate adaptation of the two-way stretch knitted
fabric and the appropriate application free from creases. A good briefing concerning the handling, some practise and reason-
able diligence help to reach thereby the necessary routine for daily application. Compression products consist of very flexible
materials. They should be donned (without overstretching) instead of just be put on.

Turn the stocking inside out up to the heel.

The footpart remains in the stocking. Expand
the foot by opening both hands and pull the
stocking over the foot up to the heel.

This forms a double fold in the middle of the foot.
b) Seize with two fingers into the double fold and
lift the stocking over the heel.
If the heel should not sit accurately or the stocking
is twisted, repeat this procedure again.

Alternatively you can slip on the stocking step by step
by using COMPRESSANA rubber gloves.
In case of tights begin with steps 1.-3. After having

pulled both leg parts up until just below the knee,
ease them up both legs to the crotch, as described in 3.
Only now you should pull the trouser up to your waist.
The gusset should sit accurately in the crotch.

Advice for putting
on the stockings
COMPRESSANA GRIP or SUPER-GRIP
special rubber gloves simplify the don-
ning of stockings considerably. Due
to the grip at the palm and a special
surface texture the stockings can be
raised easier. With these special gloves
you can easily correct the fit of the
stockings later or eliminate folds and
twists. In addition the stockings are protected against damage
(sharp edged fingernails or jewelry).
Putting on the stockings is much easier by using talcum powder
on moist feet and legs.
Before donning the stocking, examine it for damage and follow
any existing marking "left" or "right".
Make sure that the heel part fits properly. For a loose fit at
the tip of the foot pull the stocking a little topwards the front.
Never turn the top end of the stockings inside out. If you have
pulled the stockings up too far push them back by using GRIP
gloves until the mesh is even and there are no folds in the
hollow of the knee.
Sticking out threads or loops on the inner surface are technically
conditioned and should not be cut off, since otherwise holes
and ladders might develop.

Notes for adhesive bands /
silicone border
Never use the grip top to pull up the stockings. When wearing
stockings with silicone border ensure that the legs are free
from ointment, powder, oil and if necessary depilated.
Even if used properly scalls, sweat or oils build up on the
silicone coating and reduce the adhesion.
Should the stocking slip while wearing or you want to change
the position of the silicone strips (for improvement of wearing
comfort during the day) clean the silicone surfaces with the
COMPRESSANA CARING & CLEANING CLOTH.
