1. Make certain the machine is in the "Off" position when using the Foot Pedal!
2. Plug the Foot Pedal into the Foot Pedal Jack at the back of the machine and place
the Foot Pedal onto the fl oor.
3. Raise the Presser Foot by lifting up on the Lever on the rear of the machine above
the presser foot bar.
4. Turn the Hand Wheel away from you to raise the Needle above the Presser Foot.
5. Position your fabric under the Presser Foot.
6. Lower the Presser Foot by pressing the Presser Foot Lever downward.
7. Rotate the Hand Wheel away from you two full turns to lock your fabric in place.
8. Press the Speed Button to select high or low speed. High speed- the button is
raised. Low speed- the button is fl at. We recommend that you start off with the
low speed until you get comfortable. Also use low speed for intricate work which
requires a lot of stopping, starting and turning fabric. Use high speed for long
uninterrupted seams.
9. Start sewing by pressing the Foot Pedal with your foot. Take your foot off to stop.
10. Gently guide the fabric to keep the seam straight by pressing slightly down
with your fi ngertips on both sides as it feeds through the Presser Foot.
Be sure to keep your fi ngers clear of the Presser Foot!
11. When you are fi nished sewing a seam, lift your foot off the pedal.
12. Raise the Needle above the fabric by turning the Hand Wheel away from you.
13. Raise the Presser Foot by lifting the Presser Foot Lever.
14. Pull fabric toward you, leaving about 10" / 20cm of thread between the fabric & the
machine.
15. Cut thread 5" / 12cm away from fabric. (Use these thread ends to tie off your
seam!) Move the excess thread behind the Presser Foot.
16. Begin the next seam the same way!
We recommend using the foot
pedal so that you can use both
your hands to guide your fabric!
This is the same as above with these exceptions:
1. To start sewing, turn power switch to "ON" position.
CAUTION! When ON, the machine will start sewing
immediately. Be sure the machine is properly threaded
and fabric is correctly positioned for sewing before you
turn on the machine.
2. When the seam is fi nished, turn off.
