Demands on the installation location
For safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the installation loca-
tion has to satisfy the following requirements:
■ Install the device in a
possible obstacles between the device and the PCs.
■ Do not install the device in the vicinity of metallic objects and
other electrical or radiating devices.

■ Do not expose the device to direct sunlight.
■ The mains socket must be easily accessible so that the mains
adapter can be quickly unplugged in the event of an emergency.

Connection of the LAN-cables

‹ Connect the computer and other network devices, such as hub/
switch, to the LAN jacks 1-4 using the network cable supplied.
The integral switch automatically detects the transmission rate of
10 or 100 Mbps, half/full duplex transmission mode and the cable
type used.

Connection of the WAN cable

‹ Connect the Ethernet port of your modem to the WAN port
the device using the cable supplied with your modem. If no cable
was supplied with the modem, use a commercially available
cable.
