Service and maintenance

The unit must be fully isolated from the mains power supply before any maintenance and installation work
or before opening the terminal compartment! Risk of electric shock, moving parts (fans) and hot surfaces .
6 .1 Cleaning the cross counter flow heat exchanger
Loosen and remove the four star handle screws on the front cover. Remove sealing strip (Fig.23).
Pull the cross counter flow heat exchanger from the unit (Fig.24).
In order to clean the exchanger, vacuum the blades with a brush nozzle and a vacuum cleaner.

The blades must not be damaged in the process!

Do not use water or aggressive cleaning agents!

Filter change

In order to change the filter, Loosen and remove the four star handle screws on the front cover. The large inspection
opening on the front of the compact unit enables easy filter replacement for outside air and extracted air filters (Fig.25).
Supply air F7 filters (accessories) are optional.
When using F7 filters, pay attention on air flow direction arrows on the filter labels!
The air flow direction is shown on the unit label .

The KWL compact unit is equipped with outside and extract air filter class G4 as standard (to DIN EN 13779):
• Outside air/extract air:
Spare filter Course G4
Spare filter Fine/pollen F7
The filters must be checked regularly or cleaned depending on the level of contamination (risk of mould for-
mation) (filter change display LED orange, factory setting every 6 months, see also section 6 .8) . By vacuuming
once or after a maximum of 1-year operation they must be replaced for hygienic reasons . If the filters should be
moist or mouldy, they must be changed immediately!
