Getting Started

The Bluetooth MultiPort Module by Compaq provides
short-range wireless communications and allows you to replace
physical cable connections that are traditionally used to link
electronic devices. The Bluetooth MultiPort Module will enable
point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless connections
between compatible Bluetooth electronic devices enabling ad hoc
networks, or Piconets, to be created.
A Piconet environment consists of up to eight active Bluetooth
devices at any one time and of any combination of Bluetooth
devices, such as computers, mobile phones, and printers. Piconets
allow you to access wireless Local Area Networks (LANs) and
share local printer, fax, and file services provided by other
Bluetooth devices within the Piconet. To learn more about the
