7. Care and maintenance

7.1 Replacing the battery

Should "Bat" flash in the
display, the battery has a
remaining life of approx.
10 hours.
Should "Bat" be displayed
permanently, the battery
should be replaced within
1-2 hours. Should the battery
voltage be too low, the
instrument switches off
automatically.
Open the battery
compartment.
Remove the old battery
and insert the new
battery type 9 V PP3
(IEC 6 F 22).
When replacing the bat-
tery, please ensure
that the sealing ring is
not damaged.

7. Care and Maintenance

7.2 General Advice

testo 920 requires no mainte-
nance and is therefore not
subject to particular
maintenance intervals.
Clean the case with a damp
cloth.
Weak household cleaners can
be used.
Strong detergents or
solvents should never be
used forcleaning.
The instrument is suitable for
weak acids and electrolyte.
After use in an aggressive
environment, the instrument
should be cleaned with a
damp cloth.
Please observe that the
protection type IP 54 is only
guaranteed when original
thermocouple plugs (with
water-proof cover) are
connected. Never clean with
a water jet.
