Video Surveillance Cameras
GB
with IR LEDs
Please read these operating instructions carefully prior
to the installation and keep them for later use.
1 Applications
The video cameras TVCCD-180 (black/white version),
TVCCD-180COL (colour version), and TVCCD-180HCOL
(colour version, high resolution) are especially designed
for the use in video surveillance systems. They are
equipped with a replaceable fixed focus lens and an
automatic gain control (AGC) as well as an automatic
electronic shutter for exposure control.
They are provided with a brightness-controlled infra-
red light source consisting of light diodes which lights up
the surveillance area at dark. The colour cameras
TVCCD-180COL and TVCCD-180HCOL have an auto-
matic white balance and switch to black/white operation
in case of darkness. The camera housings are weather-
proof, have a removable sunshield and are supplied with
a wall/ceiling bracket with ball joint.
2 Safety Notes
The camera corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
Protect the camera against heat and cold (admissible
ambient temperature 0 – 40 °C).
The camera housing is watertight according to IP 57 or
IP 67, i. e. maximum water depth 1 m and maximum
submersion time 1 hour.
For cleaning the camera do not use any strong deter-
gents or chemicals.
If the camera is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is not correctly mounted or connected, or
not repaired in an expert way, no guarantee claims for
the camera or liability for any resulting personal dam-
age or material damage will be accepted.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.
3 Mounting and Connection
Important!
The connection inline jacks (9, 10) and the cable distri-
butor (8) are not weatherproof. In case of outdoor
connection they must be protected accordingly.
1) Mount the camera via the supplied bracket to a cor-
responding place at the wall or ceiling. For tightly
screwing the bracket to the camera, two threaded
jacks (7) are recessed in the housing (thread

").

2) Make the electric connection according to the figure
below via the two inline jacks:
a) Connect the operating voltage of 12 V
voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diam-
eter) to the coaxial supply inline jack (9) [inside

b) Feed the video signal from the BNC inline jack (10)
via a 75 Ω coaxial cable to the video input jack of
the monitor. Observe the correct 75 Ω termination
at the monitor or in case of series connection at the
last monitor. If the cable length exceeds 100 m, a
video amplifier should be inserted between the
camera and the long cable to compensate the
cable losses.
3) When using several cameras, insert a video split-
ter (e. g. TVSP-44COL of MONACOR) or a camera
switcher (e. g. TVS-40, TVS-80 of MONACOR) be-
tween the cameras and the monitor.
4 Setting into Operation
1) After applying the operating voltage and switching on
.
the monitor, align the camera to the surveillance
area. If the supplied bracket is used, release the wing
nut for fixing the ball joint and retighten it after
aligning.

2) If the area to be monitored is not reproduced clearly,
the mechanical focus setting must be corrected. For
this purpose pull the sunshield (4) from the camera in
forward direction. Screw off the front housing part (5).
Remove the rubber ring (2) from the lens and take off
the PCB with the infrared light diodes (1). Release
the small screw at the lens support. Carefully turn the
lens so far until the image is clear. Then retighten the
screw again.
3) After adjusting the lens, when screwing on the front
housing part (5) again, observe that the sealing ring
(6) is correctly in its groove so that the camera is suf-
ficiently sealed.
5 Replacement of the Lens
The cameras are supplied with a lens with a focal length
of 3.6 mm (TVCCD-180 and TVCCD-180HCOL) or
6 mm (TVCCD-180COL). If required, the lens can be re-
placed by the e. g. following lens types of MONACOR to
match the surveillance area:
