Intended use
The product is used to convert an HDMI-compatible signal to an analogue VGA signal or a component
signal (YPbPr). The voltage / power supply is supplied via the wall plug transformer included in the delivery.
The product may only be used in dry, enclosed rooms.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating instructions.
Any use, other than the one described above, may damage the product. Moreover, this involves hazards

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. It should be operated
out of the reach of children.
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with protection class II. Only use a proper
outlet of the public supply system as a voltage source for the power supply.
• The product can only be used in dry indoor rooms, it must not get damp or wet; otherwise,
there is danger of electric shock!
• When the product is taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g., during transport), condensation
may form. This could damage the product. With the wall plug transformer there is also the
deadly peril of an electric shock!
Wait until the product has reached room temperature before using it. This may take several
hours.
• Make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
• Check the device for damage from time to time. Do not touch the power adapter if it shows
any damage. Cut the power supply to the associated mains socket at fi rst (e.g. via the associ-
ated circuit breaker, also turn off the associated residual current operated circuit breaker, so
that the power supply to the mains socket is cut at all poles) and then pull out the wall plug
transformer carefully out of the mains socket. Do not use the product afterwards, but take it to
a specialist workshop.
• The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around as it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
Connection
• Connect the HDMI socket of the video converter using a suitable cable to the HDMI output e.g. a graphic
card, a satellite recorder or a game console.
• You can connect e.g a suitable VGA monitor to the VGA socket.
Note:
The same resolution that is supplied at the HDMI input will be delivered at the VGA socket.
This means that if you connect a device that delivers a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (= "Full HD")
to the HDMI input, then the VGA monitor must also support this high resolution!
• The three Cinch sockets "Y", "Pb" and "Pr" deliver a component signal that can be connected to the cor-

responding inputs of e.g. a television.
Do not mix up the connections! Always connect the output "Y" with the input "Y" etc.
• With the switch on the front of the video converter, you can select whether the VGA output or the "YPbPr"
Version 09/11
output is active.
• The digital audio signal at the HDMI socket is delivered as an analogue signal over both Cinch sockets "L"
and "R" or as a digital signal over the optical SPDIF interface.
Connect the corresponding devices here, if preferred.
• Finally connect the round plug from the wall plug transformer to the low voltage connector of the video converter.
Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
The video converter is now ready for operation.
Fault clearance
No picture on the monitor / television connected
• Check whether the cable connections are correct.
• Select the correct input on the monitor / television.
• Select the correct output (VGA or YPbPr) on the video converter.
• The same resolution that is supplied to the HDMI input of the video converter is at the VGA output. There-
fore, the VGA monitor must also be able to display this resolution.
It is not possible that a VGA monitor with a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 indicates a HDMI signal which has
a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and is converted by the video converter.
• Use a high-quality HDMI cable.
No audio playback via the analogue audio output (Cinch sockets "L" and "R") or the digital SPDIF
output
• Select the correct input on the monitor / television or the sound amplifi er.
• Change to a different audio signal (e.g. stereo instead of DTS HD), for example while playing a Blu-ray or
a DVD.
• If you use a graphic card with HDMI connection, test whether it also plays the audio signal.
Maintenance and Care
• The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
• Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing or impair opera-
tion.
Do not apply too much pressure on the housing surface, this could result in scratch marks.
Dust can be very easily removed with a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
