Private Listening with Earphones/
Headphones (Fig. 1/6)

Connections

1. For private listening use headphones with 3.5 mm stereo jack and
connect to earphones jack ( ).
2. Press VOL+/VOL- to increase or decrease the volume.
WARNING:

Do not adjust the headphone volume to loud. This may be hazard-
ous to your hearing and you may endanger others and yourself.
K
Adjust to a low volume to avoid disrupting your surroundings.
K
If you suffer from tinnitus, keep volume to a minimum or refrain from
use of this unit.
K
Otologists advise a against long term use of headphones over an
extended period of time.
USB port (Fig. 1/8)
Plug a USB storage device directly into the correct port of the device.
NOTE:
K
Always connect a USB storage medium
prevent any malfunctions.
K
The USB port is not designed for charging external devices.
CAUTION:
Before removing the USB storage device, switch the device to another
mode.
Card slot (Fig. 1/7)
Insert an MMC/SD or MS card with the label facing up into the card slot
of the unit.
For further use with a USB storage device or memory card, please refer to
section Page 48 "Work in Data Mode".

Before removing the memory card, switch the device to another mode.
Turn Unit On (Fig. 1/3)
Turn the unit on by sliding the "ON/OFF" main switch on the side of the
unit to "ON". The indicator light POWER (Fig. 1/13) will light up red.
NOTE:
After approx. 20 minutes without a signal, the device will automatically
switch to standby. To use the device again, press the button STANDBY
(Fig. 1/9; 2/24).
