• The depth micrometer is made from conductive metal. For this reason, the sliding
calliper may not be used for measurements on live cables or objects; danger to
life from electric shock!
• Do not use the sliding calliper on sensitive objects or surfaces, since the sharp
edges may cause scratch marks on the object to be measured.
• Make sure that the measuring pin, as well as the ground area of the micrometer,
go not become damaged or scratched, since this can cause faulty measure-
ments.
• The product must not get damp or wet. Avoid high air humidity, because this leads
to corrosion.
• Do not allow children to play with the device.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or acciden-
tal drops, even from a low height.

Readout
Example for measuring pin 25-50mm:
18.5mm at the measurement sleeve
0.334mm at the adjuster screw
25mm basic length for the measuring pin
Measured depth = 18.5 + 0.334 + 25 = 43.834mm
Replacing a measuring pin
Open the cap (6), by turning it counter clockwise (if
necessary, use the smaller hook on the hook span-
ner (12) ). Then, carefully pull out the measuring pin
and take the desired measuring pin.
Clean the contact face A (micrometer) and B (meas-
uring pin) thoroughly with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth.
Carefully insert the measuring pin into the micro-
meter.
Replace the cap (6), but do not tighten it!
For measurements, it is crucial that the cap (6) is
tightened with a defined strength.
To do this, use the the tightening aid (14).
Place it on the cap (6) and turn the
knurled screw on the tightening aid.
Hold the adjustment screw (5), as
illustrated, and tighten the cap care-
fully, using the other hand on the end
of the tightening aid (by the ratchet),
until a click-sound can be heard.
Remove the tightening aid.
The cap (6) now is tightened to a
defined strength.
Zero setting
Insert the measuring pin „0-25mm".
Turn the adjustment screw (5), until the measuring pin is completely sunk into the base (2) and
there is no protrusion.
Place the ground area on a suitable completely flat calibration surface.
Extend the measuring pin again, using the turning knob (7) until the click-sound of the ratchet is
audible.
Lock the measuring pin, by turning the measuring pin stop (3) clockwise a bit.
By turning the measurement sleeve (4) with the hook span-
ner (12) the neutral position can be corrected. Apply the hook
at the notch (see right arrow) and turn the measurement
sleeve.
A further adjustment of the measuring pins with the stop (19)
can be done with the key (11) and the Allen key (13); howev-
er, this should only be done by a specialist, since the setting
has to be done for all the measuring pins and appropriate cal-
ibration aids are needed for this.
Maintenance and Care
Clean the product with a dry, soft, clean cloth.
Use a suitable oil to protect the tip of the measuring pin as well as the ground area from corro-
sion.
