Classic paintwork polish

Your Porsche is special, a true classic. The
immaculately tended paint and the shiny colours
contribute to the appearance most of all and
leave a lasting impression. UV radiation, rain,
industrial dust and und environmental influences
repeatedly affect the paint which can withstand
these influences in the long run only with regular
care. If you find scratches in the paint or the
deep gloss visibly fades, polish your vehicle
early enough with Porsche Classic paintwork
polish. The achieved gloss effect will leave you
greatly impressed when you compare it to that
of customary products. This ensures a beautiful
appearance and preserves the value in the long
run. For long-term preservation of the paint, we
recommend a treatment with Porsche Classic
hard wax.
Notes:
• Wash your car first with Porsche car
shampoo.
• Tape unpainted plastic surfaces before
polishing. The paintwork polish will otherwise
leave white edges or discolouration on the
plastic.
• Do not use the paintwork polish in blazing
sunlight or on heated surfaces. Do not use on
chromed surfaces such as vehicle emblems.
• Ensure cleanliness and good lighting at the
workplace.
• We recommend processing sections going
from top to bottom. In other words, start with
the roof and go from the hood to the tailgate
all the way to the doors and sides.
• Store the paintwork polish in a frost-free
place.
Hand polish:
Shake Porsche Classic paintwork polish before
use and apply it to the enclosed polishing pad
with the shaped handle. Polish the paintwork
polish into the paint with even pressure and
small circular movements. Always process
partial sections of about 50 x 50 cm. Allow
the paintwork polish to dry briefly until it turns
slightly grey on the paint and polish the area to
a mirror finish with the enclosed grey microfiber
cloth. Flip over the cloth several times. Rinse
the polishing pad in between and after use with
clear water.
Working with a buffing machine:
Use a buffing machine with variable speed
control as well as eccentric polishing system.
Preferably use an open-pore polishing sponge
as polishing bonnet. Depending on the size
of the area to be treated, rinse the polishing
sponge in between with clear water or replace
the sponge when it becomes worn. In order to
prevent splashing when you spread the polish,
apply it only sparingly on the polishing bonnet
of the buffer. Polish the product into the paint
with even pressure and take the buffing machine
in a crisscross pattern over the surface. Move
the buffing machine about 10 cm per second
and do not polish any one spot too long as this
might burn the paint. Allow the polish to dry
briefly until it turns slightly grey on the paint. It is
best to polish by hand with the microfiber cloth
with a buffing machine and fabric pad cover. Do
not use lambskin because this might leave fine
scratches on your paint.
eccentric
An eccentric buffing system generates
an oscillating movement instead of a
merely rotating one.
This creates a diffuse running direction
and thus undirected wear of the paint
surface. ð No hologram
