Car shampoo

A thorough but gentle wash protects the paint
against aggressive dirt and forms the basis
for all subsequent work. Because road dust,
diesel soot, oil fi lms, bird droppings and the like
can damage the paint immediately and form
a dirt fi lm that would scratch the paint with
direct polishing. Hard tap water without special
washing additives is too aggressive and often
leaves water stains. Regular cleaning is the
fi rst step for a permanent good appearance
and the long-term value preservation for your
vehicle. Above all older paint should be cleaned
especially gently and yet thoroughly.
Notes:
• Before you start, ensure good light
conditions, do not wash the vehicle in the
blazing sun and do not clean heated surfaces.
• Use the enclosed sponge if you are washing
the car by hand. The fi ne-pored structure of
the sponge best saves the paint because car
washes with their brushes and cloths leave
residue that looks like scratches.
• Do not use natural sponges because there is
a danger of sand grains or similarly damaging
particles getting stuck in the sponge's
structure. These can cause scratches, for
instance when you apply pressure.
• Wash the sponge several times.
• Dispose of old washing utensils – dirty, worn
sponges or chamois can leave fi ne scratches.

Application and car wash:
Rinse off rough dirt with suffi cient water. Add
Porsche car shampoo to the washing water.
Dosage: 1 cap per 5 l water (with extreme
soiling and to clean the hood, use 2 caps per
5 l water). Wash your vehicle from top to bottom
with the sponge. Clean the bottom third last
because this will distinctly reduce washing
scratches. Door edges and door sills should
additionally be cleaned because water and dirt
always collects there. After washing, rinse the
car with suffi cient clear water to prevent water
drop formation. It is best to use a hose without
spray nozzle for this. Dry off the remaining
moisture with the enclosed clean chamois.
When you dry the vehicle, please ensure that the
chamois does not touch the ground because it
could thus collect sand or dirt which would then
assuredly leave scratches.

Cleaning clay

Especially with older paint, fi nest dirt collects
in the pores of the paint over time. This dirt
can often not be removed completely with
classic car shampoos. Perceptible sediments
on the paint surface (e.g. insect or resin
residue, fl ash rust and the like) can be removed
gently with Porsche cleaning clay. Especially
before applying coating polish, a thorough and
in-depth basic cleaning the paint surface is the
prerequisite for the subsequent polishing.
Notes:
• Cold cleaning clay can be heated up in warm
distilled water for a few minutes. This will
allow it to be processed more easily.
• Do not use the cleaning clay with dishwashing
detergent, universal or glass cleaner.
• Do not use on dry paint surface or at low
outside temperatures (below 15 °C).
• For reuse, the damped (distilled water)
cleaning clay should be stored in the provided
transparent plastic box.

Application:
First knead the cleaning clay until it feels
smooth. Form a fl at shape about 2 to 3 cm
thick that you can hold easily in your hand.
Spray a little water or a mix of Porsche car
shampoo and water on the paint surface to be
cleaned. Push the cleaning clay back and forth
(not in circles) across the wetted paint surface
without applying pressure. Repeat this step until
you can no longer see any dirt and the paint
surface feels smooth. If the surface of the clay
is very heavily soiled, simply knead it again to
hold in all dirt particles. Remove the residue
on the paint surface with a moist microfi ber
cloth. Invest a suffi cient amount of time into the
cleaning, check and process the paint surface
of your Porsche bit by bit. After you have
fi nished, rinse the surface with clear water. An
in-depth cleaned paint is the prerequisite for the
subsequent polish.
