Measuring distances
Splitting the sound into speakers and subwoofer(s) requires that the
outputs be adjusted in time (phase), so that the two parts of the sound
arrive to your ear at the same time. This is achieved by measuring the
actual distances to your speakers and subwoofer(s). Through the
differences in distances the TDAI-1120 can calculate the delay which need
to be added to each output. This data must be entered in the Setup Menu.
When measuring the distance to your speakers, measure from the
preferred listening position (the focus position) to the front of the speakers.
When measuring the distance to a subwoofer, measure from the preferred
listening position to the back corner of the subwoofer.
