NOTICE
• The device may only be operated by qualified personnel (in Germany
see TRBS 1203).
• Before igniting the plasma arc, please observe the following:
• Switch on the cutting current.
• Completely open the compressed air valve.
• Clamping length of the carbon electrode to the plasma arc approx.
150 mm.
• Please also consult the operating instructions for the welding
components, such as power source, compressed air line.
1 Open the compressed air valve.
2 Ignite the plasma arc by briefly touching the carbon electrode with the
workpiece and slide the carbon electrode back a little.
3 Keep the plasma arc length extremely small and pass the carbon electrode
evenly over the workpiece.
The compressed air jet usually follows this and air-blasts the melt.
To put the gouging torch out of operation, proceed as follows:
NOTICE
• Please also consult the operating instructions for the welding
components, such as power source, compressed air line.
1 Pull back the carbon electrode.
2 Close the compressed air valve.
3 Switch off the power source.
Scheduled maintenance and cleaning is a prerequisite for a long service life
and trouble-free operation. During such activities, observe the following:
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up
An unexpected start-up of the device can result in extremely serious injuries.
• The entire system must be disconnected from the power supply prior to
performing any work on it.
• Close off the compressed air supply.
