CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Caution!
Unplug the power cord from the electric voltage socket prior to each cleaning of the appliance!
Prior to handling, make sure the appliance is cool!
Only use a wet cloth to clean the appliance's surface; never use detergents or hard objects, as they may damage it. Do
not use any aggressive substances for cleaning, such as solvents or abrasives!
Never clean the appliance under running water; do not rinse it or submerge in water!
Removable drip tray
Check the appliance's cleanliness and empty the drip tray (11) prior to every use. If needed, rinse the tray (11) and grid
(10) with lukewarm water and dry.
Limescale removal
Impurities from water build up during normal use. These sediments can be removed completely from the appliance
by using preparations designed for removing limescale (follow the producer's instructions), or by using the following
procedure:
1. Fill the water tank (2) with cold water up to the MAX level.
2. Place an empty receptacle with a volume of more than 300 ml on the drip tray grid (10) under the water discharge
opening (9).
3. Use the regulator (8) to select the maximum volume of hot water (300 ml)
4. Heat the whole water batch volume to boiling; dissolve in it citric acid or vinegar in a concentration strong
enough for the whole water tank volume (2 litres). Pour this solution back into the water remaining in the tank
(2), and close the lid (1).
5. Use the regulator (8) to select the maximum volume of hot water (300 ml)
6. Place an empty receptacle with a volume of more than 300 ml on the drip tray grid (10) under the water discharge
opening (9).
7. Heat the preset water batch volume to boiling and empty it.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for various hot water batch volume settings until the solution level in the tank (2) reaches
the MIN mark.
9. Empty the rest of the solution from the tank (2), rinse the tank, and refill with clean water up to the MAX mark.
10. Use the regulator (8) to select the maximum volume of hot water (300 ml)
11. Place an empty receptacle with a volume of more than 300 ml on the drip tray grid (10) under the water discharge
opening (9).
12. Heat the preset water batch volume to boiling and empty it.
13. Repeat steps 11 and 12 until the water level in the tank (2) reaches the MIN mark.
14. Discharge the tank (2) content, and clean any remaining sediments with a wet cloth. Fill the tank (2) with clean
water. After this, the appliance is ready for another use.
If needed, repeat the limescale removal procedure.
Note: Remove the sediment inside the appliance regularly, about once a week, depending on the water hardness
and frequency of use. If the hot water volume is reduced spontaneously, or the hot water contains limescale particles,
you will have to remove limescale from the appliance. Deposits reduce the heating effect and the service life of the
appliance considerably.
CAUTION!
Remove limescale deposits regularly. If you neglect regular cleaning, the heating system of the appliance
may become clogged. In such a case, no repair can be recognised as a warranty repair.
