Installation
Installation site
The blocking element is normally installed in the door
frame (fixed part). In the door leaf (movable part) only
a borehole is required for the locking bolt.
Basically, the blocking element can be installed in
any position. However, as the greatest possible
locking force is achieved
recommend installation at this position if possible.
A suitable installation site must fulfil the following
criteria:
- The available installation dimensions in the frame
are large enough to lay the connection cable to
the control unit without crushing it.
- Sufficient space must be allowed for surplus cable
in case the blocking element has to be removed
at a later date.
- It should be possible to make a borehole in the
door leaf so that the bolt can reach its end
position
unresisted
.
Install blocking element
We recommend a
borehole with 4
diameter (or slightly greater) and with min. 55 mm
depth. In the centre of the intended installation
position the necessary borehole is to be made. The
blocking element must be smooth-running into the
borehole. For rerouting the connecting cable, a
Æ
borehole of 4 mm
suffices.
ATTENTION
If the bolt or the mechanics of the blocking
element are damaged so that reliable
functioning can no longer be ensured, the
complete blocking element must be
exchanged. For this reason, the cable must
be laid loosely from the control unit to the
distributor (e.g. in an empty pipe).
cover with plaster.
Insert the blocking element with the cable first in the
borehole. We recommend performing a function test
before fixing.

For fixing in wood, plastic or metal, use a counter-
sunk screw 2.9x10 mm or longer. For thicker walls in
metal buildings, we recommend a thread cutting
screw as per DIN 7500 with M3x10 mm or longer.
Borehole for bolt counter unit
To positioning the borehole exactly, use the
enclosed double-sided adhesive pad.
Open the door and extend the bolt (see "Function
test" above).
Attach a pad to the middle of the front of the bolt
and remove the cover strip.
Retract the bolt and close the door. Extend the bolt
briefly and the pad is pressed onto the door leaf and
remains glued in this position. Retract the bolt again
and open the door. The pad marks the position for
the borehole.
Normally one borehole in the door leaf suffices:
- Min. diameter 10 mm, however 12 mm is better,
- Min. depth 12 mm (excluding door gap)
If it is necessary to compensate for a bigger door gap
or the material is not strong enough, we recommend
installing the enclosed counter unit.
Observe dimensions (see illustration "Dimensions").
- Installation depth 10 mm
- Drilling diameter 15 mm.

fixing holes must
