2. Connect the other end of the cable to a PoE injector or a PoE switch.

Install Software and Documentation
To configure an In-Sight vision system, In-Sight Explorer software must be installed
on a networked PC. In-Sight software is available as a free download from the In-
Sight support site: cognex.com/support/insight.
Log On to the Vision System
1. Open the In-Sight Explorer software.
2. From the Get Connected Application Step, select your In-Sight vision
system from the Select an In-Sight Sensor or Emulator group box and click
Connect.
The In-Sight 8100, 8200 and 8400 series vision system must

be connected to a Class 0, 2, 3 or 4 PoE power source, rated
for at least 6.49 Watts.
The In-Sight 8505P vision system must be connected to a
l
Class 0, 3 or 4 PoE power source, rated for at least 12.95
Watts.
