The communication adapter KA2 Modbus is connected directly to the PC via USB port.
There is no need for an additional power supply.
The S+S software MODKON RTU is included in the scope of delivery.
The supplied USB stick contains detailed information on how to use the current software version.
The KA2 Modbus is displayed on the PC as COM interface "COM9 SPLUSS" (Fig.1).
After successful detection, the green status LED INT-DC lights up on the communication adapter, and
the terminals UB+ and GND are supplied with voltage (approx. 15 V).
In case of short circuit or overload, the integrated electronic fuse reacts and switches off the supply.
This state is indicated by the red status LED >Imax.
The fuse is reset by unplugging the USB connection and plugging it in again.
If an S+S Modbus sensor is connected to the communication adapter via the RS485 interface,
the two LEDs TX (transmit telegram) and RX (receive telegram) indicate the bus activity.
The Auto Scan function of the software (Fig.1) automatically detects the device type, the device address and the set bus parameters.
This enables communication with the connected Modbus sensor in a very convenient way and without having to make further settings (Fig. 2).
