6. Ergonomic adjustments

6.1. Saddle position

To adjust the saddle to your needs you can change its horizontal position and
tilt. Loosen the two bolts (5 mm hex key) of the seat post beneath the saddle
with a 5 mm Allen key so you can move the saddle to the optimal position.
When you're done, tighten the bolts to a torque of 8-10 Nm. It's important
to tighten the bolts alternately and in small steps to retain the correct tilt of
the saddle.
To check the saddle position, sit on your bike with one crank pointed forward,
horizontally. The optimal seating position is achieved when the front of your
knee lies perpendicular over or slightly before the pedal axle (Figure 26).

You can use a string with a small weight attached to one end as a plumb and
ask a second person to do this measurement.
Take your time to adjust the saddle carefully. With the
correct setting you will ride more efficiently and take load
off your knees.

6.2. Handlebar

6.2.1. Handlebar height

Heinrich/Hannah:
The height of your handlebar must not be altered with the components of
the original equipment! To achieve a higher handlebar position, the handlebar
has to be swapped out by your Schindelhauer dealer.
Oskar:
You can slightly increase the height of your handlebar by mounting the
handlebar upside-down, changing the handlebar from a drop to a rise setup.
This procedure requires manual and technical skill as it is necessary to first
strip the handlebar of all components and re-mount all the components
correctly afterwards. We highly recommend leaving this task to a qualified
professional.
The stem must NOT be mounted upside down! The
clamping does only work in the way it is originally mounted.
The stem is specially designed to work with the internal
cable routing of your e-bike and can NOT be replaced by
any other stem on the market!
