1. Introduction

• This Hardware Installation Manual is aimed at personnel involved in mechanically
installing and connecting a Weidmüller photovoltaic (PV) combiner box, as well as at
service and maintenance engineers.
• Recycling and disposal: Please contact a certified waste disposal company for eco-
friendly recycling and to dispose of your old devices.

2. Safety information

DANGER
Danger, high voltage! Risk of death or serious bodily injury. Photovoltaic
systems can generate hazardous voltages. Before starting work, ensure
that the system and the devices are disconnected from the power supply
and PV generators.
CAUTION
Do not open or close fuse-disconnectors under load (the DC switch must
be opened first). Before opening a fuse-disconnector make sure there is
no reverse current flowing into the corresponding string. Before closing a
fuse-disconnector make sure the open circuit voltage of the corresponding
string is not very different from the rest.
DANGER
Protection against unauthorized opening. Danger, high voltage! Risk of
death or serious bodily injury. Unauthorized persons must neither open nor
operate the combiner box.
CAUTION
Violation of the installation instructions. Warranty claims void! If the
installation regulations are violated, all warranty and liability claims are
void. Also follow the local installation regulations.
