CHAPTER 7 BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE
7.1 PlCK UP CLEANING
After long-term use of the CD-ROM drive, dust on the pick-up objective lens can
cause detenoration of optical performance. To remove dust from the lens, this
CD-ROM drive has an automatic cleaning mechanism. Load and eject the tray and
then start the automatic cleaning mechanism. The periodical cleaning is desirable to
maintain drive performance.
7.2
TROUBLESHOOTlNG

There are many kinds of problems caused by misuse. When a problem occurs,
check the table below which describes possible problems occumng with your
CD-ROM.

If the CD-ROM is not operating correctly and you cannot restore operation by
following the detailed procedures in the table below, do not remove the cover of
the units or adjust further.

In the case of

above, unplug the unit and consult with your dealer or the
nearest service station.
