CD-ROM Driver Installation

After installing the CD-ROM installation software, do not run the TESTCD
-
program as referenced on page 3-2 of the User Reference Manual until afier
you have installed the Sound Blaster 16 software (page 3-7).

you run TESTCD prior to installing the Sound Blaster software you will not
hear any audio being played on the CD-ROM drive. Installing the Sound
Blaster software sets the environment variables and sets the audio mixer level.
These steps must be completed before you will hear audio from your sound card
or CD-ROM drive.
Note: your manual may have already been updated to remove this
reference. Ifso, please disregard the above information.
'Sound Blaster 16 Software Installation
i'he Sound Blaster software included with this kit is provided on CD-ROM.
Disregard the information provided on page 3-7 of your User's Manual which
references Sound Blaster 16 Disk #1.
You must have installed your CD-ROM software prior to installing the Sound
Blaster software. To install the Sound Blaster software to your hard disk:

Place the Sound Blaster CD into the CD-ROM drive.

From the DOS prompt in your root directory, type D:INSTALL to start the
installation program from the CD-ROM drive (substitute the appropriate
letter if the CD-ROM drive is other than D); press ENTER.
9. Follow the instructions on screen to complete installation.
