WARNING
Before starting the work, disconnect all live parts in the work area from their
power sources. If this should be impossible, take the necessary precautions for
work in the vicinity of live parts.
Insert the material to be cut into the opened cutter halves (pos. no. 1.2 – page 30). Position
the cutting head so that it is at a right angle with the cable/conductor to be cut off. The cutting
head must be held so that its position will not change during the entire cutting process.
The start of the cutting process can be seen from the cutter halves (pos. no. 1.2 – page 30)
starting to move towards the material that is to be cut. The cutting operation is terminated
when the cutter halves overlap each other completely. After the material has been transected
completely, the cutter halves (pos. no. 1.2 - page 30) will automatically return to their initial
position.

Crimping working cycle

The cutting process is executed automatically after you press the start/stop button (see pos. no.
3 - page 26) on the handle. To interrupt the cutting,
1. 1. just release the start/stop button (see pos. no. 3 - page 26)
2. 2. press the reset button strongly (see pos. no. 4 - page 26)
After you have interrupted a cutting process, you may proceed to cut on the same spot or at
another place.
Due to the integrated transection recognition, the cutting head will open automatically once the
cable/conductor has been cut.
WARNING
The backward movement for emergency situations can exclusively be initiated
by pushing the mechanical reset button (see pos. no. 4 Figure page 26).
The power tool must not be operated while exposed to rain or under water!
CAUTION
Keep any body parts away from the danger area between the cutting shears.
Make sure that no persons are present in the vicinity of the working area.
Safe standstill of the EPG CUT 40 Power Tool is ensured only when the cutting
head is fully open and the battery is removed.
