For your information:
· Dolby Digital (AC-3), a digital sound compression
technology developed by the Dolby Laboratories
Licensing Corporation, supports both 5.1 channel
Surround Sound systems and 2-channel stereo
sound systems.
· Linear PCM is a digital recording format used for CD-
DA. While CD-DA recordings are in 44.1 kHz/16bit,
DVD recordings use 48 kHz/16 bit to 96 kHz/24 bit.
Remarks on Digital Audio Output
· Do not connect the digital audio output of the DVD
player to digital audio outputs that do not have a
Dolby Digital (AC-3) or MPEG decoder. Otherwise
this may result in damage to your equipment and
loudspeakers or even injury to the ears through
uncontrolled noises. Select "Bitstream" in the audio
setup dts digital output if you would like to play DVDs
with Dolby Digital sound.

Preparing the Remote Control

Inserting the Batteries:
· Open the battery compartment lid of the remote
control (press and push in the direction of the arrow).
· Insert two batteries of type UM-4 (round cell). Ensure
the correct polarity (see also illustration A).
· Close the battery compartment again.
Lifetime of the Batteries:
· As a rule the batteries last for approximately 1 year.
However this depends on the battery type and how
often you use the remote control.
· As soon as you notice that the range of your remote
control is diminishing, the batteries should be re-
placed.
Note:
· Do not use any rechargeable batteries (Ni-Cd accu-
mulators).
· Never try to recharge, short-circuit, disassemble or
heat up of the batteries from the remote control.
· Do not expose the remote control to vibrations or
knocks as these could damage it.
· If you intend not to use the remote control for a
prolonged period, please remove the batteries.
Otherwise the batteries might leak and the electrolyte
would damage the remote control irreparably.
Range of the Remote Control:
· The range of this remote control is approximately 5m
with a maximum angle of approx. 60°.
· The range may vary depending on the level to which
the batteries are charged and depends to a great
extent on the brightness of the room (other lights).
