The common ranges apply to the solenoid system and pneumatic valve with regards to
the data for pressure, temperature and the medium.
Cautionary notes:
Power supply to explosive areas: the installation notes of the valve manufacturer relat-
ing to power supply and fuse protection must be complied with.
Special safety note
Solenoids may only be operated with the appropriate armature system. See table,
page 3.
Safety notes for assembly and installation
AIRTEC components are to be used only in the areas for which they are intended. In-
stallation and assembly may only be carried out in a zero potential, depressurised state
in an area not threatened by explosion and by expert personnel. Ensure that the ex-
haust air dusts are adequately dimensioned. The exhaust air from the units may not re-
sult in a new dust atmosphere explosion hazard in the dust EX area.
Safety notes for electrical assembly and electrical commissioning
Electrical commissioning may only be carried out in a depressurised condition and in an
atmosphere with no risk of explosion in order to avoid any dangerous movements. Care
must be taken to make no mistakes during wiring as these can cause fire, defective op-
eration or faulty functioning. The power supply lines and the signal lines must be pro-
tected from input from high voltage lines and disruptive irradiation. For further infor-
mation see DIN EN 60079. When working on the electronics, cut off supply voltage.
Protect against foreign bodies falling and possibly falling into the system. Pieces of wire
or chips can cause fire, defective operation or malfunctions. If installing the valve may
cause a difference of potential, a conductive connection must be created for equipoten-
tial bonding.
Maintenance, inspection and cleaning
Prior to performing installation and maintenance work, depressurise the system and cut
off the power supply to the solenoid operators on the valves.
Manual examination of the valves and solenoids after 2 million operating cycles or at the
latest every 6 months. This involves controlling: Impermeability, tightness of screws and
screwed connections. Replace defective components with the same types only. The
maximum interval between cleaning must be determined by the operator by means of
initial daily inspection.
