PRESENTATION:
FENNEC® is a non-opening, sliding, fall arrester designed in France and made of zinc steel with a black paint finish. It slides
on a 12mm diameter, three-strand, polyamide rope and allows the user to ascend and descend in safety. It is completely
automatic.
The device is simple to use, small, light, and robust and does not require any particular maintenance.

USING THE DEVICE: cf. 1/2/3
The device is easy to install. Simply thread the rope through the device (1) ensuring that the FENNEC®... is the right way up
(2) and tie a knot in the end of the rope under the device to stop it from pulling back through (3). You are advised to use a rope
with a counterweight attached.
The device slides along the rope when in use. FENNEC®... must be connected to the user's harness using the connector at
the end of the articulated arm on the device.
In case of a fall, the articulated arm will move a cam against the rope, jamming it inside the device, thus locking the
FENNEC®... on the rope and stopping the fall. The user is held in position at the height of the incident. The upper part of the
device will be deformed by the impact of the fall, thus acting as a fall indicator.
FENNEC®... is very versatile to use and is therefore suited to all types of temporary installation or maintenance operations
requiring work at height such as construction work, putting up roof timbers, maintenance operations, etc.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:

- The anchor point for the rope must be located above the user, with a minimum resistance to traction in compliance with
EN795. Check that there is enough height below the user according to the equipment used. A height of 2.5m minimum must
be left below the user's feet. Check that the overall layout restricts swinging to a minimum if a fall should occur.
