Operating Instruction

4.2 GLOW mode (pre-glow mode)

The GLOW mode is used to start diesel
engines with a pre-glow system.
1. Ensure that all consumers and the vehicle
ignition are off (ignition key removed or in
OFF position).
2. Connect the assisted start device as
described in
starting mode" .
3. Switch the device on and wait until the
capacitor charging process is finished (if
they are not already charged in advance).
4. Press the GLOW button. The LED control
lamp starts to flash green/red.
5. Switch the ignition on and monitor the
pre-glow display in the instrument cluster.
6. Start the engine as soon as the pre-glow
indicator goes out.
7. Repeat the process if the engine does not
start up immediately.
8. Please observe the necessary cooling
phases in the process.
NOTE
Start the engine in bypass mode if
the engine cannot be started in GLOW
mode.

4.3 Starting in bypass mode

When starting in bypass mode, the vehicle
battery is separated from the vehicle
electrical system.

1. Charge the assisted start device.
2. Ensure that all consumers and the vehicle
ignition are off (ignition key removed or in
OFF position).
3. Disconnect the battery pole clamp from
the positive pole of the vehicle battery.
4. Connect the assisted start device's positive
charger pliers directly to the battery pole
clamp of the vehicle's positive cable.
Ensure that it is impossible to touch the
vehicle mass at any point in order to avoid
a severe short circuit.
5. Connect the assisted
negative charger pliers to the battery's
negative pole.
6. Press the ON/OFF button to switch the
device on.
