In the Xpress re-boil position the kettle will switch off
automatically once the kettle is removed from the
powerbase, indicated by all lights on the kettle going
out.
G
If you experience problems with your kettle
switching on and off during use or switching
off before boiling, check that the flat element
is free from scale - see "descaling".
G
Your kettle is fitted with a filter to hold back limescale
particles.
G
If you find drops of water under your kettle, don't worry
- it is just condensation.
setting your timer clock
1 Plug in the kettle and the display
2 To set the clock to the correct time (Note: the timer
function will not operate at the correct time if the time is
not set):-
G
Press the CLOCK button
up and the hours will flash on the display.
G
Use the +/- button
set in the 24 hour format.
G
Press the CLOCK button again and the minutes will
flash on the display.
G
Use the +/- button to set the minutes.
G
Press the CLOCK button and the current time will be
set and displayed. The CLOCK button light will switch
off.
Note: If the kettle is unplugged or there is a power cut,
the clock and timer settings will revert to the factory
default 00:00.
setting your timer set time
1 To set the timer to the required time that you want the
kettle to boil at:-

Press the TIMER SET button
light up and the hours will flash on the display.

Use the +/- button to set the hour. The time will be set
in the 24 hour format.

Press the TIMER SET button again and the minutes will
flash on the display.

Use the +/- button to set the minutes.

Press the TIMER SET button and the timer will be set
and the current time will be displayed. The TIMER SET
button light will switch off.

Note: If the timer set time is the same as the current
clock time, the timer mode will not engage.
putting your kettle into timer mode
1 Fill the kettle with water as described in steps 1–4 in 'to
use your kettle'. Place the kettle on the powerbase.
2 Press the TIMER ON button
up, the display will go blank, all kettle lights will turn off
and an audible warning will sound. Switch the kettle
on
. The sound will stop and the kettle is now in
timer mode. At the set time the kettle will automatically
switch on and boil.
Note: when in timer mode there is no power
to the kettle, only to the timer base unit.

To cancel the timer, switch off the kettle and press the
TIMER ON button.
G
To switch the timer back on, repeat step 2.
G
If you want to boil the kettle whilst in timer mode, just
press the TIMER ON button and the kettle will switch
on automatically. To put the kettle back into timer mode
repeat step 2.
boil-dry protection

If you switch on with too little water, your kettle will cut
out automatically. Switch off, remove from the
powerbase and let it cool down before re-filling. When
it has cooled down, the switch will reset itself.

Before cleaning, unplug your kettle and let it cool
down.

Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry. Do not use abrasives
- they will scratch the kettle.

Even though your kettle comes with a filter, you still
need to clean the inside (and the filter) regularly.

1 Open the lid.
2 Unclip the filter
3 either rinse under the tap or use a soft brush.
or when descaling your kettle, drop the filter in too.
Rinse thoroughly.
4 Clip the filter back into place until secure
