NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of
the lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, or
it may lower the illumination.
NOTE: The nailer may not fire nails even if the lamp
lights up because the remaining battery power is low.
In this case, charge the battery cartridge.
ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
Always make sure that your
fingers are not placed on the switch trigger or
the contact element and the battery cartridge is
removed before carrying out any work on the
nailer.
Loading or unloading the nails
CAUTION:
Always make sure that the battery
cartridge is removed before loading the nails.
Unintentional firing may cause personal injuries and
property damage.
CAUTION:
Do not abruptly slide the pusher
lever on the magazine loaded with nails.
Accidentally dropping nails especially when working
in high places may cause personal injuries.
CAUTION:
Load the nails in the correct direc-
tion. Loading in wrong direction may cause prema-
ture wear and tear of the driver and damage of the
other parts.
CAUTION:
Do not use deformed connected
nails. Use nails specified in this manual. Using nails
other than those specified may cause the nail jam-
ming and breakage of the nailer.
1.
Remove the battery cartridge.
2.
Pull the pusher lever down ward until it locks with
a little click.

Insert a connected nails into the slit on the bottom
of the magazine.

Press the pusher button.
The pusher lever is unlocked and it holds the nails in
the magazine.

CAUTION:
Be careful not to place your finger
on the rail of the pusher lever when pressing
the pusher button. The pusher may hit your finger
strongly and cause injury.
NOTICE:
If the inserted connected nails remain
in the bottom of the magazine, pusher lever does
not return even if you press the pusher button.
Bring the connected nails into the magazine so that
the entire connected nails can be seen.
To remove nails, follow the installation procedures in
reverse.
Nose adapter
CAUTION:
Always make sure that your
fingers are not placed on the switch trigger or
the contact element and the battery cartridge is
removed before installing the nose adapter.
When firing nails on the material with easily-marred
surfaces, use the nose adapter. Put the nose adapter
on the front end of the contact element.
Make sure that the nose adapter completely covers the
front end of the contact element as illustrated.

You can store the nose adapter on the holder on the
magazine to keep it from being lost.

Hook
CAUTION:
Do not hang the hook from the
waist belt. Dropping the nailer, which is caused by
the hook accidentally coming out of place, may cause
unintentional firing and result in personal injuries.

The hook is convenient for temporarily hanging the tool.
This can be installed on either side of the tool.
To install the hook, insert it into a groove in the tool
housing on either side and then secure it with a screw.
To remove, loosen the screw and then take it out.

OPERATION
Inspecting trigger function
CAUTION:
Make sure that the trigger function
is in working order before each operation. The
tool must not operate only by pulling the trigger
or only by placing the contact element against the
workpiece. If you find such issues, contact Makita
authorized service centers for repairs.
CAUTION:
Before installing the battery car-
tridge into the tool, always check to see that the
switch trigger actuates properly and returns to
the "OFF" position when released.
Driving nails
WARNING:
Continue to place the contact
element firmly on the material until the nail is
driven completely. Unintentional firing may cause
personal injuries.
CAUTION:
Do not drive nails on hard mate-
rials such as metal or the like. If the nail cannot
penetrate the material, the nailer may be kicked back
toward you and cause injury.
