To ensure a long lifespan from your Varioflex Solar free - arm sunshade:
Close the sunshade when not in use and cover with the protective sleeve.
Store in a dry, dark place when not being used for a longer period of time.
If the sunshade is exposed to salt water or contaminants, it should be regularly hosed down with clear water. To
reduce any soiling of the cover, gently brush away dirt before it absorbs into the fabric, and remove stains as soon as
they appear. For additional protection, the fabric may be treated with a fibre protection agent such as "Scotchguard".
In the event that the sunshade must be closed while wet during stormy weather, re - open the sunshade as soon as the
weather has improved and allow to dry well.
Regularly inspect the base of the sunshade to ensure that it is secure and in good order.

Installation

1.
Suitable for most surfaces, including lawns. Procure 8 washed concrete slabs ( 40 × 40 × 4cm ) from your local hardware
store or garden centre.
2.
Install the parts of the cross - shaped stand.
3.
Using the four screws included in the delivery, install the turnable base on the cross - shaped stand.
4.
Position the fully - installed cross - shaped stand at the sunshade's intended location. For safety reasons, make sure that
the base area is flat and horizontal.
5.
Place at least 4 concrete slabs in the pre - installed cross - shaped stand.
6.
First attach the adapter ( top ) to the sunshade that is still lying down.
7.
Then put the solar panel into the adapter and turn it clockwise as far as it will go. To do this, the safety cap in the top must
be removed first ( the safety cap must be kept ).
8.
Before starting up the illumination, we recommend charging the batteries for at least 12 hours with the solar panel, using
solar power. Alternatively, the batteries may also be charged via the USB port and the USB cable that was delivered with it.
CAUTION: Electricity may not be extracted through the USB connection. This may damage the batteries. The same applies
where the illumination has not been used for a longer period of time, e.g. after being put into storage over winter. If the
batteries do not work, then the whole solar panel should be replaced.
9.
The solar cells charge up the batteries in direct sunlight. The charging time is dependent on the position of the sun and
its intensity.
10.
The on / off switch and the USB port are located on the supporting arm, above the crank.
11.
Carefully prop up the sunshade, set it on the turnable base, and affix/secure it to the lower back part of the pole using
two screws and washers.
12.
It is recommended that you gently separate the struts per hand before opening, which enables the sunshade to be opened
more easily. Loosen the rotational knob, insert the crank and turn in a clockwise direction. At the same time, slide the
rotational knob upwards, opening the sunshade. Turn the crank in an anti - clockwise direction, closing the sunshade.
13.
Pivot left / right. Place the crank in the opening which is provided for it. Using the crank, tilt the frame left or right into
the desired position. Do not forcibly over - wind the crank to achieve an incline which goes beyond the « max. » marking.
Caution: never close the sunshade without first putting the roof back into a vertical position.
14.
To tilt backwards: loosen the slide's rotational knob, pull the slide down, and the shade roof can be tilted backwards.
Re - tighten the rotational knob after the desired position has been achieved.
15.
The sunshade can be manually turned 360° by activating the foot pedal on the turnable base.
16.
When no longer using the sunshade, tie the fabric band around the sunshade before pulling the protective sleeve, with
zip open, over the top of the sunshade. Zip up the sleeve.
17.
When storing the sunshade over winter, remove/unscrew the solar panel and close the opening once more with the safety
cap. Store the solar panel in a dry place.
Safety note!
It is imperative that you close the sunshade in the case of high wind. Unattended sunshades must not
remain open. We assume no warranty or liability for any damages caused by wind.
