CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

s
The recommended cleaning intervals depend on the air and water quality as well
as the operation time and frequency.
Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, pull the power plug from the
power socket and disconnect the connection plug from the jack.
We recommend filling the appliance with fresh water every day.

Particles of dirt and microorganisms collect in the water basin during use, which
is why the basin has to be cleaned regularly, at least once a week. Lift the motor
unit up and away. Take the humidification mat with the float gauge and the
positioning ring from the water basin. Make sure that the parts are wet and able
to drip! Empty out the water basin. Use tap water not warmer than 30 °C with
some mild detergent and a soft towel resp. a soft sponge to clean the basin.
After this first cleaning cycle, the adherent limestone deposits should be
removed. To do this, dip the soft towel / the soft sponge into a solution of des
caling agent suitable for air humidifiers and water. For the correct ratio of water
and descaling agent, please refer to the information given on the packaging of
the descaling agent. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar (mixed with water
in a 1:1 ratio). Remove the deposits with the soaked towel / sponge.
After that, rinse the inside of the basin thoroughly with water. Dry the inside of
the basin with a soft towel and leave it to airdry with the appliance opened.
Caution:
None of the parts of the TWIST AIR must be cleaned in the dishwasher.
In general, please do not use any aggressive or abrasive detergents or
metal sponges, as these might damage the surface.
The correction of defects caused by the use of improper descaling agent
is excluded from warranty.

2 . CLEANI NG THE HUM I DI FI CATI ON MA T
Once a week, the humidification mat has to be cleaned, as dirt particles and
microorganisms can collect on it.
With the appliance switched off and unplugged, take the humidification mat
with the float gauge and the positioning ring out of the water basin. Make sure
that the humidification mat can drip and wipe sensitive surfaces dry right away
if water drops onto them.
Remove the float gauge and the positioning ring from the humidification mat.
The humidification mat can be rinsed with clear water and soaked in it. Rinse
it with water. Avoid too high water pressure. The water temperature must not
exceed 60 °C. Above 60 °C, slight discolourations might occur. Please also avoid
rubbing the humidification mat too firmly, as this might cause discolouration or
damage. A mild mixture of vinegar and water or slightly basic cleaning agents
can be used for cleaning.
Note:
None of the previously stated cleaning methods influences the ability of the
humidification mat to absorb water. During cleaning, the humidification mat
absorbs a large amount of water, which reduces the strength of the paper. After
drying, the strength generally returns.
After cleaning, place the humidification mat back in the water basin. Reinsert the
float gauge and the positioning ring: The float gauge is positioned at the centre
of the humidification mat, the positioning ring lies on top of the humidification
mat (the studs on the ring are facing down). The tip of the float gauge is stuck
into the central ring. Like that, the float gauge is fixed into place.
Fill the water basin with water if you want to start reusing the appliance right
away and place the motor unit on the appliance base.
Now, you can start using the appliance as usual.
